Setting Up the Workfront Outlook Add-in Overview You can download the Workfront Outlook Add-In here. The Workfront Outlook Add-in gives you access to the following key Workfront features, directly from your Outlook client: • Accept work For information about how to accept work via the Workfront Outlook Add-in, see "Accepting Work in Outlook." • Give status updates For information about how to update statuses for requests, see "Updating Request Statuses within Outlook." • Reply to comments Users can reply to comments via the Workfront Outlook Add-in. Users can navigate to the comment via the 'Workfront' option in the Outlook left-hand navigation. To allow users to comment on items in Workfront by replying to the email notification, you need to set up the POP account information for Workfront message routing, as described in "Understanding Email Setup Fields." • Add new tasks and issues to projects You can create tasks and issues from scratch, or you can create them from existing emails (using drag-and-drop functionality). ◦ "Silently Installing the Add-In"
Using the Installation Wizard to Install the Add-in 1. Run the Workfront_for_Outlook-version.exe file that you previously downloaded. 2. Click 'Install.'
3. (Conditional) If the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is not already installed on your computer, you are prompted to install it. Accept the license agreement, then click 'Install.' Click 'Finish' when it is finished installing. 4. (Conditional) If Microsoft Tools for Visual Studio Office Runtime 2010 is not already installed on your computer, you are prompted to install it. Accept the license agreement, then click 'Install.' Click 'Finish' when it is finished installing. 5. Click 'Next' to continue through the Workfront Outlook Add-in setup wizard. 6. Select from the following options: -Install just for you: (Recommended) The add-in is installed on the workstation and can be used only by you. Other users using the workstation do not have access to the add-in. -install for all users of the machine: The add-in is installed on the workstation and is available to all users who use the workstation. 7. Click 'Next.' 8. (Recommended) Select 'Silently update new version of this add-in.' Select this option to eliminate the need of having administrative rights when updating the add-in for future releases. When a release is made generally available, the updated add-in is automatically installed. Configuring Workfront within Outlook 1. In the Outlook client, click the 'Workfront' folder in the left-hand navigation panel. The Workfront login dialog is displayed.
