Our Workshop Newsletter : : Summer 2009

hello!

The summer’s almost here. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make Fantastic Mr Fox such a huge sold out success. We have had some fantastic feed-back and are so proud of everyone. Production photos are now available to order and you can check them out here: www.themaninthemoon.co.uk/photos. As well as our Moonstruck Matinee this term, we have some exciting workshops in store with lots of new activities to stretch the imagination and build your drama skills. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Our Moonstruck Matinee will be on Sunday 5 July at Prior’s Field School in Godalming. Following the excellent feedback from last year’s we are making this another family day. Children join us for a 90 minute rehearsal, family and friends then return with a picnic to enjoy with their children on the field. After this, we all go inside to enjoy the performance that everyone has worked so hard on.

Our Christmas Production is J. M. Barrie’s Peter Pan. Auditions will be on Sunday 21 June at Lockwood Day Centre in Guildford. Full details are available from May. You can either pick some up at workshop or download them from our website. This is the only audition date for the production - please keep it free.

Bring a Buddy Week is an exciting and fun way to enjoy MIM with one of your friends. You can bring someone brand new, a brother or sister or even someone who already comes to MIM, but goes to a different satellite - the choice is yours. all we ask is that the friend fits in to the age group for your workshop and they come with an adult to give us some contact details. As a thank you for bringing a buddy, we’ll give you one of our brand new button badges. There are four cool colours to choose from.

During the summer term, if it is too warm to wear your hoodie you can wear a MIM t-shirt instead. If you don’t already have one, we have a great selection to choose from priced at just £6 each.

drama day camps

To achieve your lunar level you must wear your MIM hoodie and come to at least 7 out of 10 workshops during the term.

Drama Day Camps are an exciting way to help your child shine. Children make new friends, work as part of a team, grow in confidence and concentration, and build social and verbal skills.

You must wear trousers or shorts (no skirts) to workshop. You may also like to bring a bottle of water. We do not allow squash, fruit juice, fizzy drinks or snacks at workshop.

Our exciting Horrid History themes, improvisations, role-play, games, movement and craft projects are all designed to help the imagination run free - a dramatic adventure to remember forever.

We always welcome feedback. If there is anything that you would like to talk about, please do not hesitate to get in touch. If you pick up late we reserve the right to make a charge of £15 per child. Please remember that you must also come into the venue to collect your child. We have now completely phased out printed information (unless you have opted out from e-mitm). If you are not receiving emails, please speak with us at workshop. Would you like a new hoodie? There are nine colours to choose from priced at just £20 each. Black, Grey, Red, Navy, Forest, Burgundy, Pink, Sky and Royal are available in the following sizes: Medium, Large and XL Youth, Small, Medium and Large Adult Order yours at workshop.
