SAP ESOA is the new blueprint for SAP architecture and there ist now alternative for sap customers.  All new sap products are based on the ESOA-platform SAP NetWeaver.  SAP is provides a growing catalog with processes and services which are ESOA-ready.  New functionalities are increasingly using ESOA-technologies.  The growing maintenance-costs will move the cutomers to new releases.
