Step 32: Choose the directory The Domino Directory is easy to use for a quick pilot program, but if your organization has an existing LDAP server, you can choose that LDAP directory.

Step 33: Specify the method used to bind the Lotus Sametime server to the LDAP directory Most LDAP servers allow anonymous binding; however, Microsoft Active Directory and Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) usually require a fully qualified name.

Step 34: Specify the authentication settings for the LDAP directory This filter allows authentication with name, email address, or unique ID. An attribute in LDAP for the Lotus Sametime server is not required.

Step 35: Specify the search and filter criteria for people The filter searches with name, email address, or unique ID. The base object specifies where to start searching. * This slide looks like it contains actual data.

Step 36: Specify the basic LDAP settings used for people entries Make sure these attributes exist in your person entries in your LDAP server.

Step 37: Specify the search and filter criteria for groups These search filters are used to find group names. The base object specifies where to start searching for groups in LDAP.

Step 43: Start the Lotus Sametime Server Start the Lotus Domino server. Lotus Sametime starts automatically. If you see the "Sametime Server: Running" message on the Domino server console, then Lotus Sametime is running properly.

Step 44: Display the Lotus Sametime client In a Web browser, enter your Lotus Sametime server URL using the format http://servername.domain.com/stcenter.nsf. The Lotus Sametime welcome page should display.

Step 45: Log in and test your connection

1. Log in and go to the Attend a Meeting page. 3. Click the Test Meeting link. 5. Click the Test My Browser button to verify that Lotus Sametime is working properly.

Step 46: Download the Meeting Room Client and then join the meeting If you have a Java Runtime Environment VM installed (version 1.4 or 1.5) and a supported Web browser, such as Firefox, you can join the meeting after accepting the Meeting Room Client download.
