No.M RESOLUT|ON WHEREAS, the regularelectionfor the City of PelicanBay, as setforth by the TexasElection Code,is requiredto be held on May 12,2006, at which time the voterswill elect City CouncilPlaces3,4 and5; and WHEREAS, in accordancewith Section271.002ofthe TexasElection Code,the City election will be conductedjointly with other political subdivisionsin Tarrant County; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVBD BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PELICAN BAY, TEXAS:

Section1:

THAT an electionis herebycalledto electCity Council Places3,4 and5 to serve until May of 2009,or until their successorsare duly electedand qualified.

Section2:

Qualifiedpersonsmay file ascandidatesby filing with the City Secretarybetween the hoursof 8:00 a.m.and5 :00 p.m.,Monday throughFriday,beginningFebruary 10, 2007, and endingMarch 12, 2007.

Section 3:

Such election shall take place at PelicanBay City Hall locatedat 1300Pelican Circle, Azle, Texas 76020,on the I2th day of May, 2006, from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00p.m.

4: Section

All electionofficials,includingthe Early Voting Clerk shall be the officials appointedto suchpositionsby TarrantCountyandtheextentrequiredby law, are herebyso appointed.

Section5:

Early voting will be held jointly with other political subdivisionsin Tarrant Countybeginningon April 30,2007andwill continuethroughMay 8,2007 at the locations and times establishedin the Tarrant County Early Voting Schedule attachedhereto or as may be amendedby Tarrant County.

Section6:

All resident qualified electors of the City shall be permitted to vote at said election.

Section7:

The election shall be conductedpursuantto the election laws of the Stateof Texas.

Section8:

The Tarrant County Election Administrator is hereby appointedto serveas the EarlyVoting Clerk andtheElectionAdministrator'spermanent countyemployees are appointed as deputy early voting clerks.

This resolution shall be construedwith any action of the governing bodiesof other TarrantCounty political subdivisionscourt providing for the conductof a joint election and any other political subdivisionas herein contemplated. The

City Secretaryis herebyauthorizedto executethe contractfor electionservices with TarrantCountyasthe authorizedrepresentative of the City.
