Reporting Services

Steps • Under Business Intelligence projects select Report Project. • Right click on Shared Data Sources to create shared data source. • Under Provider tab select the respective provider on the bases of which data source to connect.

• Specify the server name and database name. • Right click on Report and click on Add new item and report as in screen shot. • Go to Data tab and specify the shared data source and the query in the newly created dataset. • Create another DataSet for the members to get display as parameter (Ex: Martial Status) • Go to Report tab and click on Report Parameters option to add the parameters to the report. • Edit the main query to enable the parameter pass as in screen shot. • Add the Matrix control from the tool box to the layout region.

• Create a Column group on column with Product Department field. This will display the all the product departments horizontally. • Drag the Unit Sales Measure in the Details Cell. • View the Preview.

Starting Reporting Services project •Under Business Intelligence projects select Report Project.

Creating a Shared Data Source for connecting OLAP cube • Right click on Shared Data Sources to create shared data source.

OLAP Provider • Under Provider tab select the respective provider on the bases of which data source to connect.

Establishing a connection to Food Mart 2000 data base Specify the server name and database name.

Creating a New Report • Right click on Report and click on Add new item and report as in screen shot.

• Go to Data tab and specify the shared data source and the query in the newly created dataset.

Creating Parameter Dataset Create another DataSet for the members to get display as parameter (Ex: Martial Status)

Creating Parameter (Click on Report tab and then Report Parameters) • Go to Report tab and click on Report Parameters option to add the parameters to the report.

Edit the Main Query as below screen shot

Report Layout •Add the Matrix control from the tool box to the layout region. •Create a Column group on column with Customer Name field. This will display the all the Customer Names horizontally. •Drag the Unit Sales Measure in the Details Cell.
