Report Card Grade Entering Tutorial This is a self-guided tutorial for basic skills needed to enter report card and interim grades in MacSchool version 6.5 software.

Turn on the computer and log in as necessary Click to open the MacSchool Shell Click once on the Report Card module

It will open to the Students window.

Jarvis 2

Strike the Tab key twice. This will take you first to the Teachers window, and then to the Classes window.

Jarvis 3

The Students window and the Classes window can be sorted several different ways. For now the Students window is sorted alphabetically, and the Classes window is sorted by Teacher Name, Class name, and Section number. Click and hold down All Terms and change the menu to the term you want to work in.

Jarvis 4

Double click a class name, for example John Batten’s Drafting Technology class.

Jarvis 5

It will open up to the Students window.

Jarvis 6

Click on the By Bins icon.

Jarvis 7

You will enter grades into the bin for the term you need. Click and hold down on Bin 1: Quarter 1 and change it to the term you want to work in.

Grades, comment codes and CAPE (Citizenship) grades are entered vertically by student.

Jarvis 8

Enter numeric grades vertically under the percent sign. Note: there may not be any alphabetic grades to enter. A numeric grade of less than 70 will automatically produce a letter grade of F.

Jarvis 9

Enter CAPE grades vertically under Citizen.

Jarvis 10

Comment codes are numbers that are entered into the computer that correspond to a statement chosen by the teacher. Click and hold down on Class Info & Marks and choose %, L. Grades & Comments to view Comment bins.

Jarvis 11

Enter the comment code numbers into the columns labeled Comm. 1, Comm. 2, etc. Some teachers will not use comment codes, while some may use all five.

Jarvis 12

After entering grades and comments, close the window and choose Yes to save your work.

Congratulations! You have finished entering student grades, CAPE grades, and comment codes.
