The Omron REM-1 automatic wrist blood pressure monitor uses the oscillometric method of blood pressaure measurement. The monitor detects your blood movement through your brachial artery and converts the movements into a digital reading. Simply press the START/STOP button and the cuff will start to inflate automatically. After the unit has detected your blood pressure and pulse rate, the cuff automatically deflates and your blood pressure and pulse rate are displayed.
Average function Omron REM-1 displays the average of last 3 readings.
Correct Measurement Posture
Simple steps for accurate measurement 1. Attach cuff snugly on your left wrist.
Sit comfortably with your back straight, hold your arm across your chest and relax.
2. Place your left arm across the chest, and align the cuff at the same level as your heart. 3. Sit on a chair with your back straight. 4. Take 5 to 6 deep breaths and then relax. 5. Start measurement. Support your left elbow with your right hand to keep arm in position.
Position your arm so that the unit is at the same level as your heart (height of nipple).
6. Remain still and do not talk during the measurement. 7. Do not take a measurement after bathing, alcohol or exercise.
