The track of life is so fast. Sometimes, we need to stop and say, “I need a break”. Sometimes, we just need to relax, take a deep breath and reflect. The activity has provided AHSE 2A students the time to unwind from 24-hour schoolwork. After a day-long toil in school, we went to Rizal’s Park and gathered children in the streets. We introduced ourselves and oriented the children with the activity. We started the program with a prayer asking for God’s intervention that we may carry out the program as planned. We proceeded with the games, which included, “The Boat is Sinking”, “Hep Hep Hooray!”, “Bring Me!”, and “A or B game show”. In the game show, we incorporated questions about Jesus Christ and His disciples. After each game, we gave prizes for the winners. The activity has taught me well. First, all work and no play makes anyone dull. Everyone needs time to relax. We are not robots who could do everything without getting tired. I thought of doing this just for the sake of finishing my theology project, but during the program, I realized that I wasn’t just doing this for my grade, but for other deeper needs in life--- a time to relax, a time to be with bundles of joy (children) and a time to be with my God. We are happy that we have been given this opportunity to mingle with the children. They are a representation of heaven. They have made us happy with their vigor and desire for life. Second, if you dwell on the bad things, you miss out on the good ones. We must not let pressure consume us nor stress defeat us because eventually it won’t help us finish what we need to. Pray for the Holy Spirit that it may guide you and give you the strength to face challenges in life. Third and last, we should not take GOD for granted because he is our ever-loving Father, our refuge, and our strength. He is our “break” from pressures and stress. In all the days of our lives, we must not forget to thank Him because He is our source of joy and wellness. Every breath that we make must be a prayer of gratitude to HIM. Stephanie Krystel D.
