Rectangle Rectangle, quadrilateral (four-sided plane figure) with opposite sides equal and parallel and with each interior angle a right angle (90°). Its area A is the product of the length l and height h; that is, A = l x h. A rectangle with four equal sides is a square. • The diagonals of a rectangle are equal and bisect each other.

Perimeter of Rectangle • Perimeter, or boundary, the line drawn around the edge of an area or shape. • For example, the perimeter of a rectangle is the sum of its four sides.

Area of rectangle Area , in mathematics, the size of an enclosed region, given in terms of the square of a designated unit of length. Formulas for the areas of simple geometric figures include a2 for a square, where a is a side; ab for a rectangle, where a and b are two adjacent sides; and pr2 for a circle, where r is the radius.
