Instrument Performer Name Acoustic Guitar Joey Santiago Microphone Brand/Model/Pattern Placement technique Rode NT3 Cardioid Close Micing; 15cm slightly off axis with the hole Notes (Maximum 100 words per entry) Experimented widely with different placements in the room to find a suitable ‘acoustic’ and to obtain the right position in the ‘flame’. In the end a couple of other microphones and set-ups were used as a reference point to determine the most suitable colour or provide a means to blend differing colours. Following on listening to the final product the ‘hardness’ factor was clear in the NT3 i.e. too brittle and would require some significant work in the blending and EQ areas.
