How do I record from Reason or Live into Pro Tools on an audio track? You should always create your ReWire inputs from Reason or Live on an Aux Input track (LE). On TDM systems, you will only be able to instantiate it on an Audio track. On the output tab for that track, select an output to an open Bus, then create an Audio track and, on it's input tab, select the same Bus. A sample step by step: 1) Create a Stereo Aux Input track in Pro Tools. (File Menu > New Track). 2) Insert the Reason or Live ReWire plug-in on the insert of that track. 3) In the Rewire plug-in window, select the output from your ReWire application that you want to record (e.g. Mix L - Mix R). 4) On the output tab on that track select an open Bus (e.g. Bus 1 - 2 Stereo). 5) Create a new Stereo Audio Track and set it's input to the same Bus indicated in Step 4 (in this case Bus 1 - 2 Stereo). 6) Record enable the track and you're all set. When you now press 'Record' and 'Play' in the Transport, the outputs from your ReWired application will be recorded on that Stereo Audio Track.
