A message from Dr. Ronnie Floyd, Senior Pastor
February Provides a Promising Future The month of February provides a promising future for our church. Planning and decision-making done throughout 2008 will begin to be implemented this month. Through our ”Invent the Future” process we began last year and continue in as a church, we are building for the future while ministering enthusiastically in the present. How is February providing a promising future? Nick Floyd is coming alongside of me as Associate Pastor-Preaching Assistant for both of our campuses. Nick has served for three and one-half years at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas. He served initially on the main campus, assisting in the Singles Ministry, and then was called to help begin their new campus just north of Dallas in Prosper. In this ministry, he served as their Minister of Young Adults, then advanced to serve as their Minister of Adults, as well as leading and facilitating other ministries in the church. The people of Prestonwood testify how God has used Nick over these years as this work was begun by faith and now touches over 1,000 people in worship weekly. Nick will serve both campuses, taking the load off of me in several ways, and will serve as another communicator to our fellowship in all areas of ministries. He will become another voice as God raises him up in our church. Nick has now received his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Seminary and is presently advancing towards obtaining his Doctor of Ministry degree from the Liberty Theological Seminary. It is our goal for him to obtain this degree no later than the spring of 2010. At this time, he only lacks attending three major doctoral seminars and the work they require, plus doing his major project and writing his dissertation. He has been away from our ministry for almost seven years, finishing his bachelor’s degree from Liberty University and was the leading Pastoral Ministries graduate that year. He and his lovely wife, Meredith, and their daughter, Reese Caroline, will become a great blessing to our entire ministry. Even though Nick will serve both campuses, he will office during the week at our Pinnacle Hills location. Do everything you can to give a warm welcome to them. Their first Sunday will be February 8.
Ryan Blackwell is also coming to serve as our Minister of Young Married Adults at our Springdale campus. Ryan is one of our best, raised in our fellowship, saved and called through our fellowship, leaving here to achieve with great academic excellence at both Oklahoma Baptist University and the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary where he recently received his Master of Divinity degree. Ryan was the #1 academic graduate in this past December’s class. Ryan and his joyful wife, Rachel, will be a superb addition to our team. Ryan is a churchman, serving churches while achieving both of his degrees. Again, do everything you can to extend a warm welcome to the Blackwells. Their first Sunday will be February 15. A little ministry trivia—Ryan and Nick grew up together, hung out all the time together, were leaders in our Student Ministry together, played on three state championship football teams together, and both graduated from our Shiloh Christian School. We are blessed to have them back with us. February 8 will be “I Love My Church Day” on both campuses. It is a day where we demonstrate our love for our church in every way. It is the day we are gathering on our: Springdale Campus: AS MANY ADULTS AND AS MANY STUDENTS AS POSSIBLE
Pinnacle Hills Campus: AS MANY ADULTS AS POSSIBLE
Therefore, plan, connect, invite, and attend our “I Love My Church Day” on February 8. It will be a fabulous Sunday. February 22 is STUDENT DAY at our Pinnacle Hills campus, following a great regional event on that Friday-Saturday called “Hot Hearts” that will be held on that campus. Again, this is a day when the entire Pinnacle Hills campus will work the week prior in getting as many students as possible in worship that morning. Yes, February is providing us a promising future. The best is yet to come.

n March 29th and 30th, 1996, Pastor Ronnie Floyd led a group of nearly 500 men at a conference held at First Baptist Church of Springdale entitled, The Meaning of a Man. 4 Questions: Fearless Men’s Conference Is a men’s movement needed in Northwest Arkansas? Why? Yes, there is a need for a men’s movement. Men need to be challenged so they can discover their identity in Christ, develop deeper friendships with other men, understand God’s calling on their life, learn spiritual disciplines that can enrich their relationship with Christ, and learn skills to lead their families.
Why should men of the area attend?
For students grades 6–12 Register online at www.fbcs.net/students or www.churchph.com/students. Registration deadline is February 6.
It will cause each man to consider his role, identity, friendships, walk with the Lord, involvement in the church and community, stewards, and priorities. I believe God will move as men worship together and praise the Lord. They will experience closeness to God and other men.
What can men expect at the conference? We know there will be great worship, teaching, and challenge from worship with Josh, Kim, and Bradley to straight talk from Pastor Floyd and Nick and humor with Dennis. What more could you ask for in a weekend!
What do you see God doing through the conference? For our Pinnacle Hills campus it will be the launch of “Mighty Men. “ We are praying to engage a large number of men into men’s groups to encourage them and guide them to support our regular Connection Group Ministry with their spouses and/or other singles. I also believe as men look at their priorities, who they are in Christ, their family, relationships, etc., they will make adjustments in their lives and will add more balance to bring God glory.
Congratulations Jamie Lantzsch, Minister of Children Congratulations to Jamie Lantzsch for five years of service as the Minister of Children at The Church at Pinnacle Hills. Jamie’s unique heart for children, coupled with his vision, insight, and innovation, have grown and matured many children in their faith. Jamie challenges our children weekly to worship God fully, connect in a relationship with Him daily, and serve Him faithfully. Jamie’s evangelistic heart is evident in the programs and events that make our children’s ministry one of the best and most creative in the country. Thank you Jamie, Lisa, and the entire Lantzsch family for an outstanding five years of ministry to the future leaders of our church. You are loved and appreciated!
