It usually accounts for a large share of the electric bills paid by most companies. This course endeavors to enable participants to gain the knowledge on how to design, analyze, operate and maintain the Ventilation and Air-conditioning (VAC) systems in improving the efficiency of HVAC and CHILLER plants. Focus will be given on how to reduce energy consumption for HVAC systems without significant capital expense and without sacrificing on occupant comfort or process requirements. Objectives: At the end of the course participants should be able:   

to diagnose and solve common HVAC and building systems problems that leads to higher electrical consumption. to understand how the elements of an HVAC system interact with other building systems to provide cool indoor air in an efficient and cost-effective manner. to gain an understanding of the basic energy prices and costs and to understand the energy flows (and wastage) within a facility

Target Participants: The course is most useful for:      

Building managers and business owners Facility supervisors & engineers HVAC consultants, contractors and designers Maintenance and operations HVAC personnel New graduate engineers Others who want to gain a better understanding of energy conservation in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning applications
