Objective I want to share the joy and wonder I feel as I discover mathematics in all the natural world. Specifically, I wish to overcome the apprehension mathematics engenders in others.
Education BS in Mathematics, Cum Laude, minor in Physics Univ. of CO at Denver (UCD) 5-2000. MS in Applied Mathematics, with Computational Biology Certificate, UCD 12-2007. Master's Thesis compared the mechanical properties of spider silks with their amino acid sequences and modeling their stress strain curves. Special emphasis: algorithms, optimization, biophysics, biostatistics, computational biology, mathematical methods in the physical systems, continuous modeling, continuum mechanics, SAS, R, Perl, C++, MATLAB, and LaTeX.

(Part II)”, Involve, a Journal of Mathematics. Status: Ready for Publication.
Employment Bioinformatist 2008 OPX BioProducts. Assisted biologists and chemists in the development of K12 E Coli strains which contain the genes necessary for chemical production and associated chemical tolerance. Served as a facilitator between the Laboratory scientists and Computer Scientists. Developed new algorithms to examine data alone and within teams, explained existing algorithms and mathematical concepts to other scientists. Developed Nephos, an interactive MATLAB GUI designed to similarly orient many proteins with identical cofactors Proposed computational biological studies, including scheduling, feasibility, milestones , identification of necessary public domain data and OPX data, identified practical utility of the results. Teaching Assistant Math for Bioscientists (MATH5198) 2004, Prof. Steve Billups, UCD Computational Biology (MATH 5610) 2006, Prof Harvey Greenberg, UCD Online Mathematics Tutor 2003 – 2005, Assisted a variety of students with impromptu mathematical questions. Computational Biology Department Webmaster 2003, UCD – Computational Biology
