Patch Harness Overview The Platinum Pro R35 GT-R is designed as a plug and play solution for the Nissan R35 GT-R. It allows the user to have control of the engine quickly and easily by using the supplied patch harness. The patch harness is the way the Haltech Platinum Pro R35 GT-R ECU interfaces with the standard Nissan ECU. Please Note: The ECU patch harness is designed for the supported vehicles only. Please do not attempt to modify this harness, as doing so will void warranty as well as potentially damaging the ECU or vehicle. The patch harness can be explained in five parts 1. The factory ECU connectors ( connect to factory ECU ) 2. The factory harness connector (connect to factory harness) 3. The Haltech Platinum Pro GT-R ECU Connectors ( connect to Haltech ECU ) 4. The auxiliary connectors 5. The CAN intercept connectors

Patch Harness Auxiliary Connectors The Platinum Pro R35 GT-R patch harness incorporates the following auxiliary connections allowing the user to control external devices and to use non factory fitted sensors. Auxiliary connectors are outlined below. Please note wiring colour variations may occur. Auxiliary Rev Limiter The ECU has an Auxiliary Rev Limiter that can be configured via ECU Manager in the Main setup “Inputs / Outputs” tab. The Auxiliary Rev Limiter input connector can be found on the 2 position AMP connector fitted to the patch harness. To activate the Auxiliary Rev Limiter, connect the Auxiliary Rev Limiter input to the ground wire. The wiring for this connector is below.

Figure 2 – Auxiliary Rev Limiter 2 position AMP Connector wiring General Purpose Output The ECU has a General Purpose Output that can be configured via ECU Manager in the Main setup “Inputs / Outputs” tab. The General Purpose Output can be found on the 3 position AMP connector fitted to the patch harness. When the output is activated by the ECU the output will switch to ground. Solenoid valves and shift lights etc can be run directly from the output, however high current devices such as thermo fans and additional fuel pumps must be activated through a relay. This way the output is only switching the relay and not a high current draw device. The General Purpose Output is limited to 800mA Max current draw. The wiring for this connector is below.

The CAN Intercept Connectors The Platinum Pro R35 GT-R ECU is capable of communicating with the vehicles on board CAN Bus. These connectors give the user the choice to be able to intercept the factory CAN messages.

• •

The CAN Intercept connectors can be found on the breakout loom which contains Two 2 position AMP male plugs One 2 position AMP female receptacle

• •

The two 2 position AMP male plugs are labeled on the plugs as follows: “H” Indicates Haltech CAN “V” Indicates Vehicle CAN

• •

Connecting the Haltech “ H ” CAN connector to the CAN Bus Connector: Disables the 180Km/h speed limiter fitted on JDM vehicles Enables the in cabin boost gauge display to display the correct boost pressures, this is only applicable if the user has increased boost pressures beyond factory specifications, if the CAN is not intercepted the gauge will display the clamping values setup in the software. Please Note: When connected in this mode you may need to press the start button twice to start the vehicle due to the ECU requiring time to turn on and intercept the start button CAN message.

• • •

Connecting the Vehicle “ V ” CAN connector to the CAN Bus Connector: Allows the 180Km/h speed limiter fitted on JDM vehicles to operate The boost pressures being displayed on the in cabin display, will only show up to the ECU clamping pressures setup in the software. The vehicle will start as factory with one press of the start button. Please Note: ONE CAN Data connector MUST be connected at ALL times.
