II. Project Proponent:

UST Senior High School – English Learning Area Ms. Reinalene M. Gonzaga (Chair), Ms. Maria Cecillia P. Faigal (Co-Chair)

III. Project Rationale: As part of the 3RD UST-SHS Week Celebration on March 6 – 9, 2019, the English Department will hold What can you achieve in 300 seconds: A PechaKucha Competition that aims to provide an opportunity for Grade 11 Senior High School learners of the University of Santo Tomas, to showcase their skills in Oral Communication through the said presentation style. The competition will be held on March 8, 2019 from 9:00 in the morning to 12:00 in the afternoon at Rooms 4ABC of the Buenaventura G. Paredes, O.P. (BGPOP) Building. IV. Project Description: PechaKucha is a popular presentation style in which slides are shown for twenty (20) seconds each. As each slide is visible for a fixed twenty (20) seconds only, the use of text is prohibited and striking images should be used instead. This encourages the audience to concentrate on the presenter, with the images helping to maintain the former’s interest levels. The said presentation style aims to engage, inform, and capture the audience’s interest about a topic in a very short amount of time. The key to a good Pecha Kucha presentation is the speaker’s use of interesting visuals coupled with his/her ability to speak fluently. IV. Project Duration:
