In the 6th Pay commission the Grades 5000-8000 and 5500 have been placed in the Revised scale of 9300-34800 with grade pay of Rs.4200. Grade 6500-10500 have been placed in 9300-34800 with grade pay of Rs.4600. along with the grade 7450-11500 in Revised scale 9300-34800 Whose grade pay will also be Rs.4600. Major activities of SRITC 

     

 

To process as many jobs as possible at any given time to have efficient use of multi programming facility and thereby maximizing computer usage. To co-ordinate with HCL CE’s and extend maximum assistance to monitor the ROLIN network. To initiate periodical proposals for AMC for the Hard wares in EDPC To initiate proposals for procurement of consumables To Check and certify the quality of stationeries from Stores System day to day maintenance including backup and restoration. Maintenance of log books and registers for various console activities and system maintenance activities by the AMC vendors. Processing of user input data which involve validation of input, ARD updating, generation and printing of Final outputs as per the requirement of the various user departments. Applications processed in Batches (COBOL in HP/UX) Freight Accounting ,Coaching, Wagon Census (For SR & 16 SWR)

Implementation of RDBMS based applications AFRES & PRIME on 4 divisions viz. PGT,MDU, TVC & TPJ Divisions of Southern Railway at a sanctioned cost of Rs.255.88 Lakhs on the name of ‘Extension of RDBMS Phase-II.

The hardware database servers to be procured should be such as to cater to all the requirements of all SDT applications at HQ & Divisions and the impending replacement of existing servers of HQ EDP centre. An element for integration with Railway Board has also been provided for in the estimate. The works for Railway Board component will be clubbed with one of the zonal Railway for speedier execution and the debit to the extent provided for in the above estimate will be passed on to your Railway. Element for training has also been provided for in the estimate for imparting adequate training to the users to make them familiar with RDBMS and its applications.

Data Centre concept to be introduced for integrating various Applications by different User Departments.



IT centre shall be the only agency for Software Development and maintenance. Development of systems by individual departments must be banned.



Training in IT shall be with IT Centres only.



All existing Applications may be converted as Web based Applications



Material procurement cycle and utilization cycle may be fully computerized with Data sharing across Railways



Performance/Systems Audit System may be introduced

New Designations like Jr.Software Engineer, Sr.Software Engineer, Application Co-coordinator, Database Administrator, Network administrator may be introduced wit Rs.4200, Rs.4600, Rs.4800 and Rs.5400 grade pay



Additional Posts may be permitted for the following 

Migrating COBOL applications into RDBMS applications and Web Based applications and for their maintenance.

RF ID Technology may be utilized in monitoring of Materials movements, TTE and TC transactions.



Biometric/Smart card system may be introduced in Gate Attendance



Handheld devices like PDAs may be introduced in shop floors and TTES and TCs transactions and also for Parcel and luggage transactions for easy data capturing and handling. Engineering department MIS to be integrated with 37 other Systems like AFRES and PRIME

MTBF (Failure) rates are high due to non-replacement of computer hardware in time for want of funds



AMC for all assets including Network assets is required



General Conditions of the Contract for IT products may be made uniform



Gazetted and Non-Gazetted staff may be permitted to attend seminars and conferences on IT to update the recent trends in the field



Necessary infrastructure for training of users in Packages and Modules may be created in the IT Centre
