Patient’s bill of rights 1. Right to medical care and humane treatment 2. right to informed consent – right to clear explanation, in lay man’s term all proposed procedures including identity of the person who will perform such procedure, the risks and benefits involved in the procedure 3. the right to privacy – the right to be left alone when this will not prejudice the provision of necessary medical care 4. Right to Information – right to clear, complete and accurate evaluation of the nature and extent of his disease, the contemplated medical treatment and surgical procedure 5. Right to Privileged Communication – to expect all communication and records pertaining his care should be treated confidential. 6. Right to Choose Physician to serve him except when he is confined in a charity ward, when he has entered into contract with a health maintenance organization or any health insurance org. which stipulates that his doctor should be affiliated with them. 7.
