BPL power line communication:

BPL Telecom entered the area of Voice and Data Networks in 1971 by setting up power line carrier communication networks for state electricity boards. It had already commenced the manufacture of Transmission and Terminal Equipment Group (TTG) accessories in 1968 and polarized telegraphic relays in 1970. BPL Telecom offers the entire range of Power Line Carrier Communication Equipment products designed & manufactured for Power utility communication networks. All the different types of products are effectively networked for both voice and data communication and are in line with the relevant IEC recommendations.

Today most of the power utilities, apart from having Transmission and Terminal Equipment networks, have different communication networks viz., BRI, PRI, Digital Microwave, Fiber etc. As a solution stream, BPL Telecom integrates all the different types of communication media with the existing Transmission and Terminal Equipment network using its latest state-of-the-art digital switch. This ensures that the entire communication network of the Power utility is effectively and efficiently utilized. By using DSP techniques for the Transmission and Terminal Equipment ensures user-friendly commissioning techniques and easy maintenance. Hardware requirements are minimized, as the various signaling parameters are software controlled.
