This is my final circuit almost completed. It contains all of the components apart from the serial download socket and the microprocessor chip. The main board is connected to the gaming style controller via a 13 wire ribbon cable so that it can be used remotely.
This is the completed the fore arm and the rotating base. The arm has been milled from 4mm thick green plastic in a CNC machine. The servos have then simply been bolted on and the two sections are bolted together. The servo under the rotating base is simply screwed to the base using the servo arms.
This is a picture of the CNC milling machine cutting out parts for my robot. It uses a 3.2mm cutting bit and cuts out all of the pieces drawn on the computer.
This is the rotating base with the two servos moving the first section of the arm on top to show their position. I have used two servos here because they will have to take the weight of the fore arm and the gripper which consists of 3 servos and the plastic shell.
