EXPLANATORY NOTE Bylaw No. 4717 amends the Township of Langley Procedure Bylaw by amending commencement times for regular meetings of Council from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LANGLEY TOWNSHIP OF LANGLEY PROCEDURE BYLAW 1997 NO. 3694 AMENDMENT BYLAW 2009 NO. 4717

WHEREAS it is deemed necessary and desirable to amend Township of Langley Procedure Bylaw 1997 No. 3694; NOW THEREFORE, the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Township of Langley, in Open Meeting Assembled, ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1.

This Bylaw may be cited for all purposes as “Township of Langley Procedure Bylaw 1997 No. 3694 Amendment Bylaw 2009 No. 4717”.

Section 6(2) of Procedure Bylaw 1997 No. 3694 is amended by deleting “3:00 p.m.” and inserting “4:00 p.m.” to read as follows: “Regular meetings shall be held within the boundaries of the Township every first and third Monday of each month commencing at 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon and again at 7:00 p.m. in the evening according to the annual schedule of meetings submitted by the Township Clerk and adopted by resolution of Council on or before December 31.”

That Council give first, second and third reading to Township of Langley Procedure Bylaw 1997 No. 3694 Amendment Bylaw 2009 No. 4717. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

Council is pursuing the need for Council meetings to start at 4:00 p.m. PURPOSE:

To achieve Council members attendance at the start of each Council meeting. BACKGROUND/HISTORY:

At the January 12, 2009 Special Meeting of Council a motion was adopted to amend the commencement times for regular meetings of Council from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted,
