DOCUMENT FOR UPDATION OF PRL IN OTA/MANUALLY CREATED MIN/MDN

Scenario 1:PRL Update in OTA Created MIN/MDN (RUIM/Instruments): Requirements: 1. MIN/MDN should be created in HLR through OTAF.
2. Instrument in which RUIM card is loaded should support OTAPA services. PRL Update Procedure: Step 1:
Go to ZXC10 System Analysis and select ZXC10-MSS OTAF Agent system

In ZXC10-MSS OTAF Agent system, click on “Send Singly”

Step 2: Input the MIN/MDN no. in which PRL need to Update, and check in “PRL parameters” check box

Step 3: Click on arrow button to drag the “Cellular CDMA- Custom Channels” toward the Acquisition table to add the frequency channels.

Double click on “Cellular CDMA- Custom Channel “

To add the frequency channels which need to update, enter the channel no. and click on “Add”. When all required channels added, click on “OK” to submit.

Step 4: To add SID/NID which is to be configured, click on “Add”

Enter the SID, NID and select the “Roaming indicator” ON/OFF as per requirement. Check the “Cellular CDMA-Custom Channels box” and “Preffered/Negative System box”.

After Configure all above parameters click on “OK” to submit .

Select Pref_Only to “1” and Roaming indicator ON/OFF as per requirement

Step 5: Click on “OK” to start the OTAPA session to update the PRL in instrument

After Successful update of PRL parameters in RUIM, System provide a acknowledge message “Start OTASP Data Message successful” on Screen

Scenario 2:PRL Update in Manually created MIN/MDN(RUIM/Instruments): Requirement: Requirement 1: Instruments/RUIM card in which we want to update PRL, should have facility to configure A-Key. A-Key configuration for different available instrument is as following: ZTE EVDO Card: Open the ZTE EVDO card programming menu by using ZTEPST software. GO to CDMA, Select “input” and input the A-Key in Decimal format in Akey field and click on write to save: Example: like if we want to configure A-Key – 2652026011265202( that is in HEX format) in HLR Agent system when creating the MIN/MDN, then we need to configure A-Key- 2761272133159375362 ( this is decimal equivalent of “2652026011265202”) in EVDO Cards Akey field. 7

Huawei NIC/PCMCIA Card: Use the FWT Configuration tool to open the instrument programming mode. Go to ServMaintenance and select “HEX” mode, input the A-Key in HEX format (same as configured in HLR Agent system), and click on Write to save.

RUIM Card: Confirm A-key configured in RUIM card, and Configure same A-Key in HLR agent when creating the MIN/MDN in HLR. Note: Take care about A-Key format in RUIM card (whether it is in HEX or Decimal), If it is in Decimal, need to convert it into HEX and configure it in HLR agent.
Requirement 2: Select Authentication Required and SSD Shared when add the authentication in HLR to create the MIN/MDN, and input the A_Key in HEX format same as configured in instrument.

Requirement 3: MIN/MDN which is created in HLR, should get success in SSD update. SSD Update Procedure is following: To Update the SSD go to Authentication and select Authentication Indicator(U) in HLR Agent system.

Enter the MIN/MDN and click on Query

Select SSD Update, Unique Challenge and click on OK to start the SSD Update session

After Successful SSD update, Success message will show in the Authentication Indicator result field

Requirement 4: When updating PRL in data cards (EVDO or NIC card), it should be confirm that card is connected to network. PRL Update Procedure: Step 1: Go to ZXC10 System Analysis and select ZXC10-MSS OTAF Agent system

Note: If system is giving failure message, once perform the SSD update as per given SSD update procedure (as shown in fig 17, 18, 19) and after that try for the PRL update.

After Successful SSD update message, check the PRL in instrument /RUIM card through appropriate programming tool.
