Enforce the Environmental Quality Acts 1947.  

Manage the environment. Prevent, control and abate pollution.

Performing inspection to each premise to ensure high compliance to Environmental Quality Acts 1974 and regulations under it to control pollution.  Performing monitoring to troublesome premise based on complaint received.  Taking appropriate action to premise who failed to comply with Environmental Quality Acts 1974 and regulations under it. 

Week 3

Inspections of Cerebos Premise

Week 4

Followed the Mobility Resources Unit to do smoke Retest at Stadium Shah Alam.

Week 6

 inspections on Fuji Xerox premise and Premier Milk Premise  Do the analysis of COD and Total Suspended Solid from the sample of wastewater and record the value.

Week 7

 A trip to Bukit Tagar Sanitary Landfill with all practical students.  Follow Supervision and Technical Store Unit to monitor marine water at Port Klang.

Week 8

 Inspection to Fujifilm CDS Chemport (M) Sdn. Bhd. and Times Offset (M).

Objective:  To retest of dark smoke emitted by heavy vehicles. (bus and lorry).  To ensure the enforcement of the regulations.  To control the quality of air.

Instrument A

Muller BEM Exhaust Smoke Analyzer is used for the gas analysis of vehicle with diesel engine.  To detect smoke darkness percentage.

Exhaust Smoke Analyzer must warm-up for at least 10 minutes before the analysis is carried out  Make sure that the vehicle which is going to be tested should be warmed up for at least 15 minutes and has operated for the distance at least 15km.  Press accelerating pedal twice for the cleaning of deposited unburned hydrocarbon remaining in the exhaust pipe before the sampling probe is inserted into it. 

Insert the sampling probe into exhaust pipe for at least 25 cm.  Press accelerating pedal into maximum point and hold it for 2 to 3 seconds  After the engine has returned into idling condition, next test is carried out for the same vehicle  Three tests are carried out and average of the reading is taken. 



Gas emitted cannot be more than 50 Hartridge Smoke Unit (HSU) or 50% Opacity.

 Vehicles

that fails in the smoke retest will be compound over RM 2000 is issued.

 Experienced
