A trip to Bukit Tagar Sanitary Landfill with all practical students. Follow Supervision and Technical Store Unit to monitor marine water at Port Klang.

Inspection to Fujifilm CDS Chemport (M) Sdn. Bhd. and Times Offset (M).
Objective: To retest of dark smoke emitted by heavy vehicles. (bus and lorry). To ensure the enforcement of the regulations. To control the quality of air.
Instrument A
Muller BEM Exhaust Smoke Analyzer is used for the gas analysis of vehicle with diesel engine. To detect smoke darkness percentage.
Exhaust Smoke Analyzer must warm-up for at least 10 minutes before the analysis is carried out Make sure that the vehicle which is going to be tested should be warmed up for at least 15 minutes and has operated for the distance at least 15km. Press accelerating pedal twice for the cleaning of deposited unburned hydrocarbon remaining in the exhaust pipe before the sampling probe is inserted into it.
Insert the sampling probe into exhaust pipe for at least 25 cm. Press accelerating pedal into maximum point and hold it for 2 to 3 seconds After the engine has returned into idling condition, next test is carried out for the same vehicle Three tests are carried out and average of the reading is taken.
Gas emitted cannot be more than 50 Hartridge Smoke Unit (HSU) or 50% Opacity.
Vehicles
