WHY MONEY IMPORTANT? Money plays a very important role in our everyday life. Our parents work very hard to earn money. With this money, they are able to send us to school, buy food, clothes, books and other important things.

WHAT YOU LEARN ON THIS CHAPTER?

In this chapter, you will learn about money (ringgit and sen) sen and how to do addition, subtraction, multiplication and division involving money. MONEY UP TO RM10000

Every country has its own money or currency. In Malaysia, our currency is known as ringgit(RM) and sen. The notes are in RM1, RM2, RM5, RM10, RM50 and RM100. The coins are in 1 sen, 5 sen, 10 sen, 20 sen and 50 sen.

Add RM373 and RM4 683.50. Solution: RM 373.00 Add 2 zeros + RM4 683.50 Arrange the RM5 065.50 points in a straight line

Answer : RM5 056.50

Perform mixed operation involving addition and subtraction involving money up to RM10000 Mixed operation can be performed on money. It is similar to performing mixed operation on number. Example 8

Add RM965 with RM8 039. Then, subtract RM5 003. Solution: RM 965 RM9 004 + RM8 039 - RM5 003 RM9 004 RM4 001 Answer : RM4 001
