Praise Jesus

Praise Jesus, Our Savior (Luke 2:8-20) Shepherds Lowly, unclean, outcasts But who better to recognize a lamb! Symbolic of His role as the “Good Shepherd” (see Isa. 40:11, John 10:11, Heb. 13:20) God often uses the humble to do/convey his will (1 Cor. 1:26-29) Angel of the Lord Messenger Accompanied by the glory of the Lord This Shekinah Glory was the visible manifestation of the invisible God’s presence. Have you seen the glory of the Lord? If so, where? Good News "Christmas" literally means "to send Christ." It can also be called "the mass of Christ." Should be received with great joy (Gk. Chara) (see Matt.13:20) Webster defines joy as the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires. Joy is contagious Manifesting joy uplifts and inspires others Have you experienced joy? If so, when? Joy is a “state of mind” characterized by peace, a stability despite life’s inconsistencies (see James 1:2-4) How can you maintain this joy? (see John 15:1-11)

For many, Christmas is a difficult and painful time due to hardships and loss Still, it presents and opportunity for all to refocus upon God’s love & ultimate triumph on our behalf Max Lucado once put it. “If God had a refrigerator your picture would be on it. Christmas tells us that God cared enough to send the very best, and He did it all for you. For all people A Savior – from our sin Messiah – Anointed, Chosen, Set Apart by God Born where prophesied by Micah (Micah 5:2) Came as a child, in swaddling clothes, in a manager - humbly Could be found if looked for And the shepherds went straight to look for him The Heavenly Host Praised God Because this child and this act, reflected His glory Because this child brought the hope of peace (reconciliation with God) to man Mary All were amazed by what the shepherds reported, including Mary Treasured & meditated upon
