HOW TO CREATE A POLL WITH

POLLDADDY.COM CREATE A FREE ACCOUNT 1

A. Go to PollDaddy.com and click on the Signup Tab B. There are a few types of accounts, but you want to click on the Free Account option (scroll down to the bottom of the free column to create your account) C. Fill out the information requested (your name or name of newspaper, email address, and password). When signed up, you can then start creating new polls

CREATE AN ONLINE POLL 2

A. When creating a poll, you will need to ask a question, list the possible answers, and choose from a several different display options. (Make sure to hit the Save and Continue button when you are done)

EMBED POLL ON YOUR SITE

A. Copy the HTML code provided for the poll. B. You can locate the code by choosing the List Polls option under the Polls Tab C. Click on the Options button next to the poll you want to embed and click on Get HTML Code D. Copy the code and then log into Zope E. In the ‘Short Story’ or ‘Story’ field in Zope, click the ‘Source’ button on the toolbar F. Choose the spot between paragraphs where you want your poll to show up G. Hit return a few times and paste the code from PollDaddy. H. If the poll is embedded in a story, add something to the headline to let readers know there’s a poll in the story, for example: “POLL: Who should replace Sammy the Spartan as the San Jose State mascot?” I. Add a “poll” keyword to the story to make it easier to find later. J. Save your story and publish it to sections as normal 3C
