Political Change

~Beginning Snapshot~ • After Rome collapsed the most used type of political system were Empires and manor houses, the most successful Empire was the Holy Roman Empire. The ruler who got the Holy Roman Empire to its peak was Charlemagne, he became king in the year 800. Manor houses developed in England and France, they were run by a lord and it was a self-sufficient political system, people from one manor usually spent all there life without ever leaving the manor’s territory, there was a complete absence of trade.

~Change~ • After the crusades Europe stopped concentrating on war with Muslims and started focusing on its internal problems. However, the real start of Monarchies, was when rivalry started between England and France. In England a monarch came with a vast army and he unified all the selfsufficient manor houses.

~Ending Snapshot~ • After the Hundred Year War England and France were the two major monarchies in Europe. The lords were the nobility and the king had absolute power. That is, until the lords made the king sign the Magna Charta, a document were it said that the King would take so much money from the lords.
