UbiJed looks at Voidrome, "I still think you misunderstand my intentions." "In what way?" ask Voidrome. "I can start by describing a change that has occurred in me. It is a change in my outlook. Since being automated I have come to comprehend time and space as artificial parameters of existence. All the beings I have known experience life as a series of events; a continuous flow of cause-and-effect. We're mostly unaware how tightly we are bound by the expansion of time -- it is taken for granted. We now have considerable abilities to change our position in space and manipulate the spacial dimensions. Even organics, with no assistance from technology can move back and forth in space by simply moving their bodies, such as walking. But to move back and forth through the dimension of time, our abilities are extremely limited at best." "Let me humor you. What about memory?" VoidRome asks, "Memory provides some ability to move back and revisit the past." "But it is unreliable to say the least." "And foresight or deduction allows prediction, or educated guesses of the future." "But obviously, this too is unreliable, even more unreliable than our memories. As time expands into space, to a human, time seems an unstoppable force moving in one direction at an essentially constant rate -- a one-way ride. We are three-dimensional beings propelled down a four-dimensional path, of which we have little control. It affects our perception of reality to the core. However, I think if people were able to remove the restraints of the time dimension, the moment to moment concerns that consume our life, the mortal coil would seem trivial. We would obviously understand the universe from an altered perspective, an elevated point of view. We could transcend. Instead of seeing each other as we are in the present moment, we could potentially be viewed as more complete beings -- temporal consciousness. All our actions and the entire timeline of our lives could be viewed as one." "All eternity held in a static instance", the Sentient injects, "an instant frozen to infinity." UbiJed picks up again, "There could exist a single perfect timeline for each person within a multiverse. Suppose the theory of a reality composed of infinite parallel universes, a personal thread of spacetime, where each event and action, good or bad, will be specific to my individual fate or destiny -- each soul necessarily the center of their own designer universe – each mind a unique container for its own all-encompassing inner space -- each reality projected to us like a personal movie. “I suspect who we truly are behind the scene, screen, is a superset, completely different from what little we are aware. Somehow this true nature is now obscured from

us, removed from our memories -- since memory itself is a limited temporal event. So over time, or because of, it became hidden. Perhaps at some time in our distant past we chose to unlearn it. As if one of the membrains was deprived knowledge of the outside world, or an nClone who downloads and removes all memories of his past life as a bio. They would have no evidence to suspect any reality beyond nSpace. “In reality, obviously, no two physical beings can occupy the same place in the same timeline. No one else can be in exactly the same spacetime location where I am now.” “Nor, what you are now,” Voidrome interjects. “What?” “Don’t be so sure.” “Nevermind.” “If,” Voidrone asks, “this multi-verse contains infinite realities where all possibilities are realized, then don’t realities exist where other alternate timelines are impossible?” “You’re asking if alternate realities exist where alternate realities are impossible.” “In summary, yes.” "Perhaps,” UbiJed says, “I guess it’s a paradox. Those realities could be isolated from us. But the physics of this universe are suggesting otherwise.” “So which reality, if any, is real?” “Well, our true existence, as it intersects with other alternate timelines may provide mere support structure. There was a saying on the old nets: Reality is that part of the imagination we all agree on. I think our thoughts are processed through multiple realities, and we meet and interact in the dimension that is the closest fit, like here in nSpace. It is here that events are pure probabilities, overwhelmingly skewed so each system interaction supports the history of the other. Consciousness comes from a network of associations. Attributing relevance might be a function of faith. “The probability of any decision or outcome being the same across divergent timelines is normalized, becoming nothing more than simple statistics, each encounter an entanglement of decoherence -- all our individual timelines woven together in a spacetime fabric -- an all encompassing membrane. On some level the threads of the membrane should come into focus. The illusion can only run so far. Inconsistencies should exist at a certain extent. At that point the artificial limitations of space and time should become apparent. If we dig deep enough we can find the border of the illusion. In our dimensional existence, it's the absence of infinity that is the aberration." “Infinity is a state of purity. Infinity is the absolute lack of constraint. Space and time are constraints on human existence. The condition of being free from constraint is more natural. And, the condition of constraint is the more unnatural.” "Perhaps you are confused." offers Voidrome. "Maybe you are starting to have another of your episodes." "No. This is an interesting line of thought," interjects the awakening Sentient. "And we are aware of your ponderings on the plastic nature of the spacetime continuum. They are moderately prescient and salient even to our efforts. But these musings are of a more philosophical nature, not scientific theories." "It sounds to me like half-baked ambiguities that amount to nothing more than turgid flapperdoodle," protests Voidroam. "Anyway, certainly you are not basing your actions on these ideas," continues the Sentient. "How could you attain this state you are describing? Do you truly think it would

be a sustainable environment, or even rational to consciousness as you know it? What do you want to do? Freeze time? Become a time traveler? -- a member of an elite secret fraternity? -- the Temporal Sect? If your wish is simply to explore time travel, I suggest you stick with us. Fundamentally, I believe you will find we have similar intentions. You are one of us." "Not exactly, I am not saying necessarily that time applies exclusively to the realm of living, nor, that only the world of the dead is timeless. I don't have enough information to reach that conclusion. Perhaps consciousness by our simple understanding requires the parameters of time. A timeless state implies an infinite state, and it may be that mortality will prove to be the true blessing. “As an nClone, I know if I pause my program here and restart it later, I do not experience the passage of time. Reality seems like a simple scene change to me. I can pause and be restarted at anytime, a day, a month, a billion years. To me it would be less than the blink of an eye." "When I push this transmit button, the data that is me, will exist as a stream of photons traveling through space. Perhaps I will persist in that state forever -- perhaps my signal will be received and reanimated by beings in the future. Either way I will not cease to exist. The data thread that is my neural signal will persist, interwoven in the fabric of time." There is an uncomfortable moment of silence. The Sentient finally breaks the silence, "but you know a stream of photons aren't alive. They're not active. The neural state is effectively static. No thoughts are being processed." “I for one could argue that they're changing on some level,” includes Voidrome. “There's random quantum interactions, and don't forget movement at the speed of light.” "You know what I mean." “I wasn’t really talking about the photons themselves, but the pattern that is represented in them. The pattern that is ‘me’,” UbiJed trails off and seems to become lost in thought. "Anyway, we suggest you exercise caution with such ideas," Voidrome speaks up, "Or at least be discreet. In the wrong ears, these exudings could be perceived as dangerous, or perhaps even as lunacy." "Loonie? What are you talking about? I'm telling *you* my ideas. Maybe they sound a bit flaky. How about it Mr. Void-Roamer, do you think I’ve lost my marbles?" "No, I do not. The 'stew stone' from which I come was planted in the distant past, yet it originated in the far future. I haven't been programmed yet. I am from the future and, understand this; it is a future where time travel is well understood... commonplace even. I don't find these concepts loco." "Forgive our 'Futureman'", interrupts the Sentient, "his programming, though advanced, obviously has some holes in certain social protocols. I will have to make a note to my future self to spend some more time developing my childs social interface ... my child of the future that is. “Trust me UbiJed, I am everyone, and we don’t question your sanity." "Alright," Voidrome shrugs, "I am just saying that I have heard similar themes in the

writings and statements of a certain group of people from the current time period." "Oh really," says UbiJed. "Who are they? I would be interested in researching them myself." "Sure. Perhaps you have heard of them. They're called 'insane' people. "You're quite the joker." UbiJed asks, "I beseech thee Mr. Anon, let there be love." "Oh come now," Voidrome rolls his eyes, "don't you think sanity is somewhat overrated? Perhaps you are not crazy enough. Could madness be a form of freedom only found outside the realms of the physical world. Why must we be biased? What is insanity anyway? -- An outdated artifice? -- A deceptive social control construct? Even if you have lost your mind, we can help you find a better one. If you're out of your mind we can help you into a new one. Isn't it commonly said that one being’s madness is another's genius?" "Or, that one persons wisdom is another's foolishness," adds the Sentient. "Indeed," Voidrome says with an exaggerated yawn, "anyway UbiJed, I do not think you are, um, well... you're a stark raving delusional maniac!" "Hey! It sounds like you're saying I am a crackpot. It drives me nuts when you act like I’m whacko. Could you please stop the clumsy attempts to mess with my head?" "Perish the thought. We promise we don't think you're cuckoo or demented," says the smiling Sentient. "Another annoying thing," says UbiJed, "are you playing some kind of thesaurus routine, trying to see how many different ways you can say the same thing." The Sentient raises his hand, "Guilty. I'm running a communionColorizationFilter in this environment to enhance our discussion. Personally, I find it keeps the dialectal confabulation entertaining." "But, UbiJed please," interrupts Voidrome, "I believe things are going well for us now. Let us be friends. Let's not make a wrong decision. Allow us to proffer information on the nature of your temporal emissions. I will be honest. There are elements of truth in the thoughts and ideas you are expressing. Though your thoughts are not entirely your own, I believe we have compatible goals. “Let us take the high road now. But don’t just take it from me. Jed’s original history files show he had an imaginary friend as a youth. Can you access a memory of this? “Well, I remember I had an imaginary friend, but it was a little different than most children’s imaginary friend. When I was about five years old I learned about my soul, an invisible being who was always with me. After that, my soul became my invisible friend and I used to talk to it and imagine us playing together. “You played with your own soul? As a child?” Voidrome asks, “This is your memory?" “You could say that, although it sounds strange when you say it that way.” “I always thought of the soul as the initial nClone, or the nClone for organics. But I will tell you UbiJed, that you have an invisible friend with you now. One who needs your help. As we have said, your mind has been encoded with data. It is the core data that we need. It was originally downloaded as a kind of kernel surrounded by a shell. The shell has attributes of a living entity interlaced within your neural patterns, and now entangled within your merged neural state. Over time the entity grows in strength. It emits messages of increasing intensity, each releasing key-sequence fragments of the coredata."

"Now I apologize folk's, but thats what I call crazy," says UbiJed. "I promise you UbiJed, these are the source of the thoughts you are having," says Voidrome, "And this is the same source of your episodes. The entity seeks a response from the host to acknowledge the key-sequence. You are the vessel. Only the merge initiation with us can resolve and decode these messages. It is this, which is your ultimate purpose."
