Smart Photoshop • Working wiht Smart Objects means, first of all, flexibility. • If you never used them before, should try today! • If you are using them already, maybe the following slides can be useful.

MULTIPLE • Smart objects let you combine multiple layers and help you organize your document.

SIZE • With Smart objects is not all smooth and silk. If use them, must consider that fill size will increase.

SAFE • Data are perfectly preserved in Smart Object. So you can resize and manipulate without affecting the original image.

VECTOR • Smart Objects are excellent if you are importing vector graphics from Illustrator to Photoshop.

SMARTER • Smart Objects do not support linked Layer Masks. You can be Smarter than a Smart Object simply putting it in a folder and link the Layer Mask to the folder instead of the Smart Object.

SUB-DOC • To edit a Smart Object, just double click the thumbnail. A document will be open. Edit it and remember to save before to close the. The document wont’ be saved as file on your hard disk, but will update your Smart Object.

PROXY • A Smart Object can work as a Proxy placeholder to work faster with low res images.

STACK • Smart Objects can be grouped in a stack. Stack modes operate on the images included in the stack. Remember Median, the fastest “tourists remover”!

NOISE • Median is also amazing to remove unwanted random textures, as Image Noise.

SMARTS • Smart Objects and Layer converted for Smart Filters are exactly the same thing.

ORDER • Use Smart Filters to apply flexible filters. The stack of filters can be rearranged.

BLEND • You can also change blending mode to the filter.
