You and your partner (if you have one) will need to complete the following tasks as you research your topic: 1. Create a Picture Poster (11 x 17) with: a.
a picture of your philosopher,
b. a quote or saying that highlights their idea(s) (the quote should stand out on the poster) c.
one paragraph mini biography.
2. A Written Report about your philosopher that should include: a. Where and when was this person born and where did they live b. Did their living location have any effect on the philosophies they developed? c. What were four or five of their main ideas? (ex. What did they say about freedom, order, equality, hierarchy, social contract, politics, science etc.) d. How were their ideas presented? (ex. Books? Papers? Government? Pamphlets?) e. How radical were their ideas? Who would like these ideas the most? Who wouldn’t like their ideas and why? 3. An Oral Presentation to the class (less than 3 minutes)
a. This presentation will need to be able to provide your classmates with the answers to the following questions: i. Who is this person? ii. When and where did they live? iii. What were their main ideas? iv. Why is this person important?
