Mechanism of action and indications erosive espohagitis associated with GERD. Decrease relapse rates of daytime and nighttime heartburn symptoms on patients with GERD. Suppresses gastric secretion by inhibiting hydrogen/ potassium ATPase enzyme system in gastric parietal cell; characterized as gastric acid pump inhibitor, since it blocks final step of acid production.
