This team reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Technical Activities The Technical Activities Division focuses on the development and organization of high quality events that include technical or management conferences, workshops, and exhibitions of interest to the aerospace community.
Externals The externals group represents AIAA and aerospace issues to the world and to our membership: engaging the public and our membership through Corporate Communications, reviewing technical issues in a broader social and economic context for the aerospace community through Aerospace America and providing an awareness of issues and their impact to policymakers through Public Policy and communicating to our members on internal activities through the Bulletin. To be effective, our externals program requires merging the aerospace knowledge of the Institute's membership with the staff's written and oral communication and persuasive skills appropriate to each audience.

Member Services develops strategies to recruit and retain members, is a primary point of contact for members (domestic and international) and coordinates programs to recognize service to the Institute and the profession. Honors and Awards administer a comprehensive awards program that recognizes those that have made notable contributions to the profession. Recognition is made through more than 80 awards as well as the Fellow and Honorary Fellow grade program. Young Professional Activities develops and administers programs specifically designed for members who are under age 35. Historic Sites Program honors notable aerospace sites in public ceremony. Educational programs focus on the educational needs of the aerospace community. More specifically, Professional Development manages 40+ courses to 100+ courses, which are a blend of courses at conferences, home study and onsite. University/Student Programs administers numerous programs to support students pursuing a degree in Aerospace Sciences. K-12 Outreach develops programs to support educators and excite students The Customer Service group provides a one-stop shop for customers to inquire about membership, product, and program inquiries, orders, and fulfillment. The group handles the data entry and processing of memberships, subscriptions, and conference registrations; journal and meeting paper claims and fulfillment; membership kits; and supports the external fulfillment house in the fulfillment of books and other products.
Human Resources Human Resources provides support to employees and teams throughout AIAA. This includes implementing and maintaining benefit, compensation, training and other programs related to employees and employee morale.
