Redwood Shores, USA Principle Consultant This system is developed for Western Conference of Teamsters Pension Trust for maintaining their accounting and claims activities. It is a complex system built using Oracle and Java technologies, as a replacement for the existing COBOL based system. The screens are developed using Oracle Forms to resemble the mainframe look of 32x70. The entire application is meta-data driven, i.e. information about the screens and the business rules associated with the fields is stored in tables which are used at run time to create the screens dynamically. The business rules are executed dynamically by a PL/SQL component called business rules engine. Environment: Oracle 9i, Oracle 9iAS, PL/SQL, Reports 6i, Forms 6i, Java Responsibilities:  Create functional and technical specifications for some of the modules.  Involved in writing large batch programs using PL/SQL.  Extensively used PL/SQL collections while coding the batch programs.  Made use of Oracle Advanced Queuing features for communicating between batch programs or between batch programs and reports.  Coded various business rules of the system into reusable modules.  Load data using SQL* Loader from the external files into the application tables.  Developed shell scripts to transfer the generated report files to various recipients. database is loaded with data coming from an external source. A Java based GUI is used to retrieve and modify the data using JDBC. Environment: Oracle 8i, Sun Solaris Responsibilities:  Creating entity relationship diagrams using Erwin.  Creating the database and the tables, indexes and synonyms required for the application.  Load data using SQL* Loader from the external files into the application tables.  Coded stored procedure and packages using PL/SQL..  Performed database backups in both cold and hot modes and also recovery.  Automation of regular processing activities using shell scripts and cron jobs. Apr 2000– Aug 2000 Servicelane.com Dallas, USA PL/SQL Developer Servicelane.com was an E-commerce company to connect customers with service providers. When a customer wants to request a service, he is presented with a list of providers based on the criteria input by the customer. A set of intermediate tables are first loaded with raw data using SQL Loader, which is cleaned up using PL/SQL scripts, and then loaded into the main tables. Some of the data is adjusted using a front-end application developed using PowerBuilder. It was designed to create a configuration of a product, consisting of various components based on a set of rules. These rules define the specifications for the products and solutions offered to the customers. Major part of the work was done at the client location in UK. Environment: PowerBuilder 4.0 Responsibilities:  Involved in development and testing of various data entry screens and reports.  Also involved in developing the interface from PowerBuilder to Microsoft Word using the Dynamic Data Exchange feature. The product configuration, generated by the salesperson is converted into a word document. This interface had to be developed for use by the salespersons of different languages of Europe.
