NUMBER ROTATIONS 1. On a new sheet of paper, use a protractor and a pencil to mark a centre point and 30° intervals around it as shown.
2. Trace one of the number shapes above (or one of your own construction) onto card, and carefully cut it out. Mark the pivot point and the arrow shown. This is your number template. 3. Place your number template over the piece of paper containing the 30° markings, and hold it firmly using a pen, push-pin, compass point or even a split pin if one is available so that the pivot point and the centre point are together, and the arrow is on a 30° mark.
4. Using pen, trace the template, then rotate it to the next 30° mark, and trace again. Repeat until the template has been traced in all positions. 5.
Erase any unwanted pencil marks and colour your design.
On Computer: Draw another number rotation diagram using “Geometer’s Sketchpad” (GSP) or “Geogebra” software.
