accomplishing

an eternal commission

Dear Friends & Co-Laborers, Greetings to you as we rejoice in this season of Thanksgiving! What a wonderful time to share and celebrate all that God has given us to be thankful for. It is also a time for us to reflect upon the often-used cliché: “Put yourself in the other person’s shoes”. In this instance, I am not referring to the beggar on the street, or a struggling single-mom, or the public figure on TV, or even the person you may be trying to see “eye to eye” with. Although it is vital to do this in everyday circumstances and with everyday people in order to live compassionately, humbly, and with an open perspective; however, today I am referring to the “shoes” of a very specific Person: The Person of Jesus Christ. Another cliché that is casually thrown around is W.W.J.D.: What Would Jesus Do? In reality, we should be asking What DID Jesus do? If we know what He did do while He was on this earth, we then know what we should do as we represent Him on the earth today. We know He DID the Gospel: He preached, taught, healed, saved, and demonstrated the power of the Holy Spirit. Our blueprint for life is as simple as reading the New Testament. We also know that once Jesus fulfilled His Great Commission on the earth, He ascended to the throne in heaven on the right hand of God. Now, I ask you, put yourself in His shoes. Why? Because in order to accomplish an eternal commission, we must see what heaven sees and hear what heaven hears. We must change our earthly perspective to His heavenly perspective. You see, God wants to deposit His agape, unconditional, compassionate love into you so that you see people the way He sees them! He wants you to hear what He hears!

His blood-bought children. What do you suppose He is praying for? By His work on the cross, everything we could ever have need of has already been met. Our salvation, our healing, our peace, our every present concern was calculated and paid for by His precious blood at Calvary! He is interceding for the “sons of God” to be manifested on the earth! He is interceding that we would rise up and “compel the lost” to come into the kingdom of God. He is interceding for the men, women, and children that have yet to “call upon the name of the Lord and be saved”. The Bible says that “He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance”. Will you allow your heart to be broken for the lost? Will you permit the compassion of the Lord to do a work in your heart? I warn you: you will not be able to go about life as usual. Those who tune their ear to hear what heaven hears, will go forth with an eternal perspective. I challenge you to seek the Lord and pray that the things that matter to Him will be what motivates your every decision. Let our lives satisfy the cry of His heart: SOULS! II Corinthians 9: 11Thus you will be enriched in all things and in every way, so that you can be generous, and [your generosity as it is] administered by us will bring forth thanksgiving to God. 12For the service that the ministering of this fund renders does not only fully supply what is lacking to the saints (God’s people), but it also overflows in many [cries of] thanksgiving to God. 13Because at [your] standing of the test of this ministry, they will glorify God for your loyalty and obedience to the Gospel of Christ which you confess, as well as for your generous-hearted liberality to them and to all [the other needy ones]. We love you! Happy Thanksgiving!

I believe as Christ sits on the right hand of God, two things are certainly taking place: He is hearing the cries of people, of lost souls desperate for a Savior; this is the constant pulse of His heart. We can also be sure He is praying and interceding for us,

Crusade Update: This past month we held a celebration for our 10th year Ministry Anniversary in Jacksonville, FL. It was such a meaningful and wonderful time to see so many of you there, as well as to connect hearts with new friends. We treasure you and thank God for your involvement in seeing the vision come to pass! We have set our goal to conduct the next Mass Crusade during the first months of 2009. We are so encouraged to report that through the anniversary fundraiser event, we were able to raise one third of the total budget for this coming crusade! Praise God! This is a big step of victory in the right direction and we know that God will also meet us with the remaining funds that are necessary in reaping a harvest of souls once again. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for each seed sown towards the Gospel going forth!
