MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

I would like to take this opportunity to say what an honor it has been to serve as your president for the past year. I appreciate the dedication of our Board Members and volunteers who make this organization great. I look forward to welcoming our new president, Gary Fuller, at our December meeting and introducing to your our 2009 Board of Directors. Thank you for your support. The Washington State Chefs Association Food Bank cookbook is being distributed to local food banks. The first delivery will happen at the Bremerton Foodline on Thursday, November 20 at 2pm. Anyone interested in lending their support for a photo op should intend to show up in their Chef whites. 1600 12th St. Bremerton. Thank you to all, especially Chris Plemmons, Robert Hawkins, Barry Gregg of Lifetree Studios and Kinkos Silverdale for all of their help in getting this project finished. I am sure it will be appreciated. As you know our December meeting is a special fundraiser for the apprenticeship program. We would like to have 110 guests at this event - bring your spouse, friend or colleague. Only advance reservations for this event - Reserve now. The dinner will be great and there will be opportunities to Christmas Shop at the Silent Auction. See you there!

Chefs News... AAC DINNER Chris Plemmons and Gary Fuller can now add AAC to their names as they were formally inducted into the American Academy of Chefs. The views from the Space Needle on the night of October 25 were breathtaking - a superb backdrop for the well attended AAC Dinner.

If you were unable to make it but would like a souvenir, Jim Douglas has some plates for sale $10.00 each. Please call him at 360-657-CHEF if you would like to purchase one.

Western ACF Conference - April 4-6,2009 Trade Show Exhibitors and Sponsors Needed. Seattle is proud to be the host city for the ACF Western Regional Conference in April 2009. This is a fantastic opportunity to show off! We know that we live in a culinary paradise. Let us show the west what Seattle Can Do! Transportation into Seattle from Seatac will be needed in the evenings - what better way to get your name out there to all the western chefs. Why don’t you sponsor the bus service? Chef Stefanie Branica is the local chairperson for the conference and is busy gathering information on companies and organizations who are interested in sponsorship or tradeshow opportunities for this conference that will bring over 400 chefs to the city.
