AREA 8 SPEECH CONTEST z
Next Tuesday, March 3 Campbell Rotary will be the proud host of the Area 8 Student Speech Contest. As with our own contest, we ask members to arrive promptly at 12:15 so we may have time to enjoy all the presentations.
Ginny Miskulin Honored
Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! Next Monday, several club members will be celebrating the birthday of Theodor Geisel, AKA “Dr. Seuss”, by reading some of his stories to students at Rosemary School. I wonder who will have more fun--the students or the Rotarians!!
Coming Events
Bill Highley, RI Foundation Chairperson, made an eloquent and heart-felt presentation to Ginny Miskulin at last week’s Valentine’s Luncheon. One of Rotary’s highest honors is the bestowing of the Paul Harris Fellow Award. Ginny is a long time friend of Campbell Rotary, having been married to member George Miskulin for many years. Ginny was also active with the Rotary-Annes, an auxiliary organization that used to support local Rotary Clubs in the years Mar 2: Board Mtng @ Hickory Pit
Feb. 28: Club Social: Honoring Past Presidents
Mar 3: Area 8 Student Speech Contest @ EMQ
Mar. 2: Dr. Seuss’ Birthday @ Rosemary School
Mar. 6-8: PETS Mar. 9: Dinner Service @ EHC
before Rotary opened it’s doors to women. Ginny has been a friendly presence at our club over the years. She and George were responsible for the beautiful camellias that adorned our tables every Valentine’s day. Ginny was touched by the honor and expressed her appreciation to the assembled crowd. Ginny was also joined at the festivities (in photo) by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jim Hughes. Thanks so much to Bill Highley for this great and well deserved presentation.
