Introduction Come online and get your free website with Navlekha, an initiative by Google. Interact with online readers through a website that is all yours and share your thoughts, in a quick and easy way. Hi, I’m Navlekh – your virtual assistant to help you with your Navlekha webpage tools

Page 1 This is your Navlekha- Publisher Dashboard. From here, you can: 1. Edit your profile 2. Upload your articles online 3. Create new articles to publish

Page 2 How to Edit your Profile Step 1 Click on the ‘Edit Icon’ at the top right. Step 2 Enter your author’s name, your publication’s name, your publication’s URL, e-mail ID and contact number. Upload the logo of your publication. Click on ‘Save’.

Page 3 How to Upload your Article Step 1 Go to the Publisher Dashboard. Click on ‘Upload’. Step 2 Click on ‘Upload a file from here’. Step 3

Select the PDF of the article you wish to upload and Click on ‘Open’. Step 4 Click on ‘Process’. Step 5 Select ‘Words’ to start editing your text in the article. Step 6 Enter the article’s title, date and author’s name. Step 7 Enter the content by selecting the sections in the PDF you want to publish. Step 8 If you want to type, Click on the ‘Keyboard Icon’ and choose your preference amongst the 4 options available. Step 9 To add a picture, first select “Image” option and then select the picture from the PDF. Step 10 To insert the weblink, select the uploaded picture and Click on the ‘Insert/Edit Link Icon’. Step 11 To publish your article, go to ‘preview’ and Click on ‘Publish’.

Page 4 How to Create a New Article Step 1 Go to the Publisher Dashboard and Click on ‘Create’. Step 2 Enter the article’s title, date and author’s name. Step 3 Click on the ‘Keyboard Icon’, select your preference and start typing. Step 4 To insert the weblink, click on ‘Insert’ and then Click on ‘Link’. Step 5 To add image, click on ‘Upload’.

Step 6 Select the image you wish to upload and Click on ‘Open’. Step 7 To publish your article, go to ‘Preview’ and Click on ‘Publish’.

Page 5 How to See the Preview of your Article before Publishing Step 1 To see how your article will look after publishing online, Click on the ‘Preview Icon’. Step 2 To see how your article will look on a computer, Click on ‘Desktop’. Step 3 To see how your article will look on a tablet, Click on ‘Tablet’. Step 4 To see how your article will look on a mobile, Click on ‘Mobile’.

Page 6 How to Edit Image ●

To increase or decrease the size of the image, select the image and drag inwards to decrease the size and outwards to increase the size



To rotate the image clockwise, Click on ‘Rotate Clockwise’ icon. To rotate the image anticlockwise, Click on ‘Rotate Anticlockwise’ icon



To flip the image vertically, Click on ‘Flip Vertically’ icon. To flip the image horizontally, Click on ‘Flip Horizontally’ icon



For more edit options Click on ‘Edit Image’ icon ➢ To zoom in to the picture, Click on the ‘Zoom In’ icon ➢ To crop the image, Click on ‘Crop’ icon, select how much you want to crop by dragging the mouse and then Click on ‘Apply’ ➢ To resize the image, Click on ‘Resize Icon’, enter the width and height, and then Click on ‘Apply’. Make sure you have ticked the ‘Constrain Proportions’ box, as it will balance the proportion of your image

➢ To flip or rotate the image, Click on ‘Orientation’ icon ➢ To adjust the brightness of the image, Click on ‘Brightness’ icon. Increase or decrease the level according to your choice ➢ To make image look sharp and bright, Click on ‘Sharpen’ icon ➢ For contrast effect, Click on ‘Contrast’ icon ➢ To adjust the overall colour level of the image, Click on ‘Color Levels’ icon. Adjust the RGB according to your choice, and then Click on ‘Apply’ ➢ For gamma effect, Click on ‘Gamma’ Icon, increase or decrease the level according to your choice, and then Click on ‘Apply’ ➢ To invert the image colour, Click on ‘Invert’ icon, and then Click on ‘Apply’

Page 7 How to Make your Article Presentable ●

To position the headline as per your choice, select the headline and Click on the ‘Indent Icon’.



To change the font size of any text, select the content, Click on the ‘font size list’ and select the size.



To make any text bold, italic or underline, select the content and Click on ‘B’/’I’/’U’ respectively.



To change the colour of any text, select content, Click on ‘A’ and select your colour.



To add bullet points, Click on the ‘Bullet List Icon’.



For number list, Click on the ‘Number List Icon’.

Page 8 How to See your Published Articles Step 1 To see the list of your published articles, go to the Publisher Dashboard. Step 2 Click on the article you wish to see.

To track views, go to the Publisher Dashboard and Click on your option.

You are responsible for the content published on your Navlekha webpage. Always ensure your sources are verified. Avoid using Google images. Try using images clicked by you or your team If you are publishing someone’s article, give author the credit by mentioning his/her name
