ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - ISO 14001:1996 ♣

Throughout the world, the pressure for organizations to demonstrate the performance of their environmental management system and compliance to environmental regulations is ever increasing Many major companies now prefer to use suppliers that have an environmental management system in place. In view of the trend, poor record of environmental performance may become a main obstacle in entering certain market in the future.

The Development of ISO 14000 has reinforced the importance of environmental management system. With increasing public concern Page 3

over industry's impact on environment, companies need to understand what ISO 14000 means and how it applies to them ? Before their competitors gain a market advantage or before litigation is brought against them for activities that are harmful to the environment and surrounding community. ♣

Implementing an ISO 14000 based environmental management system will give an organization more than just confidence that it complies with various environmental legislation. The systematic approach of ISO 14000 ensures a comprehensive assessment of all areas and activities that affect environment. QUALITY SYSTEM FOR AUTOMOTIVE - ISO/TS 16946 QS9000 the automotive standard was devised by automotive giants as a reaction to poorly assessed ISO 9000 quality systems where assessment bodies were seen to allow companies certification without them demonstrating a true commitment to quality. The QS9000 system is essentially ISO 9000 but with additional requirements to customize it to the automotive industry and to explicitly require those element only implicit and within the spirit of the ISO standard. It must be recognized that the new ISO 9000:2000 has clarified the majority of these requirements and in the future differences may be only cosmetic. Page 4

The new TS16949 is based around ISO9001:2000 rather than the old 1994 ISO9000 standard. It is broadly the same as QS9000 except in respect of Employee empowerment and motivation and Supplier and subcontractor development. Companies registered to QS9000 must upgrade by December 2005. My Focus offers a cost effective Audit service that helps you to improve your performance and the efficiency of your Management Systems. The service manages the entire Audit Program and enables the continuous improvement of your management system. ♣ ♣ PPrroocceessss m moonniittoorriinngg & & FFiinnaall IInnssppeeccttiioonn Combined with our in-process quality inspection services, My Focus’s monitors the production processes at each critical step. When product defects or non-conformances are found, we can readily identify the process that allowed the defect to occur and we can provide the necessary changes to eliminate the problems early on saving both time and money. Final inspection services provided are conducted on a random sampling basis using the industry recognized sampling plan of your choice and an agreed upon inspection procedure. Our final inspections are normally conducted as a subsequent action to our in-process inspection work.
