The Mushroom All mushrooms grow from microscopic spores, not seeds. Plants growing from spores are called fungi. A mature mushroom will drop as many as 16 billion spores.

What is probably the largest living organism on earth has been discovered in the Malheur National Forest in eastern Oregon. A fungus living three feet underground is estimated to cover 2,200 acres. After testing samples from various locations, scientists say it is all one organism. Officially known as Armillaria ostoyae, or the honey mushroom, the fungus is 3.5 miles across and takes up 1,665 football fields. The small mushrooms visible above ground are only the tip of the iceberg. Experts estimate that the giant mushroom is at least 2,400 years old, but could be 7,200 years old. Mushrooms are unique organisms, stationary like a plant, yet built from chitin (Ki’-tin) like the shell of a lobster. Chitin makes up the cell wall and contains immune building compounds. Chitin is also indigestible by humans, overcoming this obstacle by cooking breaks down the walls and relices the compounds for immune and cancer fighting medicines. An average mushroom is made up of about 90% water. It is for this reason that it has a short lifespan and soon decays. Africa has a mushroom species called Termitomyces titanicus, which can grow more than 39 inches across, and can have caps less than 1/16 of an inch across! The Oak Tree WYE MILLS, Maryland. - An oak tree that was the living symbol of Maryland, standing through gale and drought since before Europeans inhabited the area, has been felled by a thunderstorm. The 460-year-old, nearly 10-story-high the tree was in good health, but it was a 460-year-old tree. The Oak's girth was 31 feet, 10 inches and it was 96 feet high. That means it started from an acorn in 1633," The root systems of Quercus macrocarpa (better known as oak tree) are often twice the size of its canopy burrowing some 300 feet into the ground. The last limb fall was in 1984, a branch weighing 35 tons.

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish Counsel: advice, guidance, direction, warning. Way: method, means, techniques, mode, system, approach, manner, line of attack. Scornful: contemptuous, disrespectful mocking derisive, sneering Delight: gladness, pleasure, enjoyment, satisfaction. Meditate: ponder, consider, think, and reflect. Job 4:8 Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. 2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 1 Peter 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 2 Peter 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Ephesians 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Holy: righteous, godly, pure, virtuous, faithful, sublime. Sublime: inspiring, uplifting, moving, magnificent, encouraging, motivating, stirring.
