ST. THOMAS AQUINAS COLLEGE A TRADITIONAL CATHOLIC SCHOOL OF THE SOCIETY OF SAINT PIUS X
MISSION STATEMENT The supreme law is the salvation of souls. St Thomas Aquinas (STAC) seeks this end for her collegians by striving to develop within them strong character based upon the timeless teachings of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. STAC seeks to develop this character by fostering a profound knowledge and love of the traditional Catholic Faith in an atmosphere of discipline motivated by fraternal charity. This knowledge and love of the Faith is fostered by love of the liturgy, the practice of traditional devotions and love for the acquisition of knowledge in a spirit of academic excellence which will equip the collegian to become productive members of our holy Mother the Church and the society in which they live. By these means STAC is committed to assisting the parents associated with her work of returning the souls of their children to God.

PHILOSOPHY OF THE COLLEGE The supreme law is the salvation of souls. This is the reason for the existence of STAC. As a school of the Society of St Pius X (SSPX), STAC seeks to assist the Order in this sublime task by focusing on the education of children – the Catholics of tomorrow. The primary concern of STAC, then is the welfare of the collegians. Of paramount importance is their eternal welfare. To effectively seek this eternal welfare STAC strives to do the following: a) Instil a profound love for the traditional Catholic Faith by the following means: 1. Catechetical instruction to dispel ignorance 2. Fostering devotion to and the understanding of the sacred liturgy of Holy Church. 3. Helping collegians to develop a well-balanced spiritual life through the practice of Catholic devotions. b) Instil an understanding of one's responsibilities to society at large c) of setting a good example that the light of Christ's social reign can shine forth. STAC concerns herself also with the temporal welfare of her collegians by striving for excellence in all areas of education. Through a breadth of general knowledge STAC seeks to equip her collegians to enter the world strong in the faith,

able to enter that walk of life to which they are best suited and to face the challenge of adapting to a world which is changing at an ever increasing rate. That they become productive members of their families, communities (religious and civil) and their countries is the goal of STAC. STAC seeks to assist parents in their God-given mission of developing character in their children. Realising that the family, as an imperfect society, is not sufficient of itself to completely develop in every child his God-given talents, STAC strives to assist parents in this work by providing instruction that will help the children realise their full potential thus avoiding the Gospel's condemnation reserved for those who "bury" their talents. The staff of STAC is committed to these goals. Realising that "perfect schools are the result not so much of good methods as of good teachers" (Pius XII), STAC is committed to providing qualified staff members dedicated to uphold the mission of the College. Their friendly communication with parents facilitated by their accessibility makes the teaching staff a real help to parents in the fulfilment of their sublime task.
