Methodology After studying the operation of H2 stores, the task was to collect data regarding the type material that is stored in this store. For this SAP R/3 (Systems Application and Products for data processing Real time/ 3 tier architecture) proved to be very helpful. Functions used in SAP are as followsLX02 - Gives Current stock along with location. MD04 - Gives details about whether material is in-house or purchase & it also gives maximum stock level. MB51 – It gives Number of Issues and Receipts at Inventory Management (IM) level. MM03 - Gives Moving Average price and Standard Price of the Material. MC48 – Gives Stock quantity and Stock value. MC45 – Gives Consumption of a material for a given period of time. MC42 – It gives Average Usage/Day for a given period of time. The screen shots of the functions used in SAP is given Annexure. SAP provided me data like Material number, Material Description, Usage/Day, Available Stock, Value of stock, Last issue, Last Receipt, etc. Then this data was transferred in Microsoft Excel and using vlookup data was prepared in tabulated form which proved to be very helpful throughout the project. From this data, required analysis was carried out. Global Intranet in BOSCH proved important for understanding various terminologies and concepts. Also various people in different departments helped me to provide with all the necessary details about H2 stores. Most of the data is confidential so it cannot be taken outside company premises so the data which was allowed is shown in the analysis.
