CHAPTER III METHODOLOGY This chapter provides a description of the method used in the study. It presents the research design, research locale, sample and sampling technique used in research instrument, procedure and statistical analysis.
Research Design A descriptive study was used to conduct this study. As widely accepted the descriptive methods of research is a fact-finding study that involves adequate and accurate interpretation of findings. A descriptive survey was selected because it provides an accurate portrayal or account of the characteristics, for example abilities and knowledge of a particular individual situation or group. Descriptive study is under taken in order to ascertain and be able to describe a certain present condition, relatively the method Is appropriate to this study to see the objectives of this study which is to determine The factors Affecting Struggling Mathematics Subject Among the Grade 10 Students of Justice Eliezer Delos Santos National High School. The desire to acquire first hand data from the respondents so as to formulate rational and sound conclusions and recommendation for the study. In this study the information will collected through self-administer questionnaire distributed personally in the subjects by the researchers.

Reasearch Locale The study will be conducted in Justice Eliezer Delos Santos National High School, Division of city school in Valenzuela city, National Capital Region where the researchers in currently students in Ugong Senior High School. The respondents are Grade 10 students with a probability of learning about the factors affecting struggling mathematics subject among the junior high school of Justice Eliezer Delos santos National High School Sy: 2018-2019.
Sample At the time of the study are 393 enrolled in Grade 10 of Justice Eliezer Delos santos National High School Sy:2018-2019. The target respondents will be composed of 100 random sample for Grade 10 students from the fourteen (14) students will be selected from each section.
Instrumentation The instrument used is a self-administered survey questionnaire to gather the needed data. The draft of the questionnaire is come from the researcherβs reading previous studies review of related literature published and unpublished thesis relevant to the study. Validity is done to ensure that all possible items would used in measuring the concept under study are included in order to established the validity of the instrument, the researcher sought opinions of experts for further enhancement of the student. The questionnaire is made up of two parts: First part is is for the profile of the respondents when included the following age,gender& general weighted Average.

Second part is the question proper that covered the extent of the following. The Factors Affecting Struggling Mathematics Subject Among the Junior high school of Justice Eliezer Delos Santos National High School Sy: 2018-2019. For instance, statement describing the situations or issues pertaining was toned down to accommodate the knowledge preparedness of the respondents, open ended options to accommodate to free matted views related to the topics or issues. In this way, the instrument is authorized to obtain valid responses of the students. Preference for the use of the structured questionnaire is premised on several research assumptions such as a.) Lost of being least expensive means of gathering data, b.) avoidance of personal bias, c.) less pressure for immediate response; and giving the respondents a great feeling anonymity. In the end, if encouraged open responses to sensitive issues and hand in addition the instrument was validated by few consultant and former persons before it land on the study.
Procedure The researcher gathered the dat first by asking permission from the school principal and focal person where the study will be conducted The questionnaire will be administered personally to the grade 10 students. The grade 10 students are required to accomplish and return the questionnaire the same day βupon collecting of the questionnaire. The respondents organized and subjected to statistical statement.

Statistical analysis The data gathered from the questionnaire were collated, tallied, summarize, and treated statistically. Font statistical tools were utilized in the treatments of the data in order to answer the major as well specific. Sub-problem the data that were gathered were treated with following. 1. Percentage- This was used to answer statement of the problem number one (1) to analyze the profile of the grade 10 respondents and statement of the problem number three (3) to analyze their academic performance.
