1. Startup and configure the device for Skype Unbox and connect the device to power and to the network using an ethernet cable. Note that you need to unscrew a small screw on the side of the device, then open the lid and open a hatch to access the power and ethernet port. When connected, close the hatch to secure the cables, then close the lid and fasten the screw again.

2

1.1 Configure the device language and Skype account Power up the device and go through the initial OS setup for language, region and keyboard settings. The device will eventually restart (the screen will be dark for a while) and when back up again, the Skype Room System configuration wizard will appear.

1. Agree to the License Terms and tap Next.

3

2. Specify the sign in address and password for the mailbox of the room in question, then close the on screen keyboard and tap Next.

3. Verify that the default Microphone and Speakers are specified.

4. Continue with the default theme by taping Next.

4

5. Finish the configuration on the last page of the Wizard.

1.2 Change the name of the device and join it to the Mölnlycke AD domain In order to make central management easy, the device name needs to be changed. The naming standard is “SRS--<site>-”, e.g. SRS-se-got-newyork. If the above mention standard makes the name too long, remove letters from the right, e.g. SRSse-got-newy. To change the name and join the domain follow these steps. 

In the Skype room GUI (where you end up by default) tap the settings cog in the lower right corner and select settings. Tap the password box to open the on screen keyboard and type the password for the admin account. (User is “.\Admin” Password is “sfb”).

5

On the left side tap “Windows Settings” and then tap “Go to Admin Sign-in”.

At the logon screen, tap the “Administrator” account to the lower left on the screen and log on using the administrator password. (Password is “sfb”). If the Administrator account is not visible click Other account and use (User “.\Admin” and Password “sfb”).

6

Tap to open File Explorer.

In File Explorer, tap and hold for 2 seconds before releasing on the “This PC” icon in File Explorer. When releasing tap Properties.

 

In the System window, tap “Change settings”. In the System Properties window that opens, tap “Change”.

7

 

Change the computer name using the format mentioned above. Tap the Domain radio button and enter “mhc.molnlycke.net”, then tap OK. (you might have to close the on screen keyboard to see the OK button.

Enter the credentials of an account that have rights to join devices to the domain, then click OK. Wait for the “Welcome to mhc.molnlycke.net domain” popup then tap OK. A new popup displays that you need to restart. Click OK, then OK to close the System Settings windows and tap “Restart now”. Create a request to have to device moved to the correct OU in AD. This is crucial for the correct GPO’s to be applied. Supply the name of the device and that it is a Skype Room System device.

 

1.2 Install the SCCM client In order for these devices to be maintained and updated, they need to be managed by SCCM. This requires that the SCCM agent is installed. At the logon screen after the reboot following the previous step, sign in again as Administrator using the LOCAL administrator. To do this use the login name “.\Admin” and the password “sfb”. Open File Explorer and browse to the following url: \\nl-int-sccm03\sccm_client (Note! There is an “ _” between sccm and client) Enter the credentials for any domain account within Mölnlycke (no special permission needed). Double tap the file “MHC_SCCM_Setup.vbs”. The installation of the SCCM client is silent. To verify when the installation is complete, give the installation five minutes.

8

Go the Control Panel by clicking the magnifying glass icon just next to the start button. Type “control” and click the Control Panel Desktop App. In the Control Panel tap “System and Security”. At the far bottom you will find “Configuration Manager”. Open that by tapping on it. Verify that the “Assigned management point attribute is set to “nlint.sccm03.mhc.molnlycke.net”.

The device is now configured. Restart the device in order for the GPO’s to take effect. The device should automatically sign in using the local account named Skype.

9
