Respected Madam, We are students of LGS 30 main, grade 5-C. Many of the students in our school are unhappy about the conditions of our school canteen. The

canteen has been selling pasta, burgers, pizza, spring rolls, cupcakes and baryani. Almost all of these food items contain oil, which is dirty and unhealthy. The people who sell these food items do not wear gloves or hairnets. Canteens are very important in the school because they are supporting teaching through proper nutrition. The school canteen is a great place to promote an enjoyment of healthy eating. For students who use the canteen regularly, the food purchased makes a significant contribution to their total food intake and nutrition. Food safety is especially important in schools since children can be more susceptible to food borne illness. Working in a school canteen means you need to also keep food safety in mind all times. To keep hygiene, always wash your hands thoroughly after

touching some things that have germs on them. Even wear chef hats to prevent people’s hair coming in the food while giving it to the children. A canteen should also contain healthy food because healthy school meals can lead to better behaved students who are more alert in class, even a small change such as switching to organic milk, can help children’s concentration and behavior. Nourishing the children’s health by providing healthy canteen food with low cost should be a priority for every school.
