Skill: Identifying irrelevant sentence

Description of the text: Sentences within a paragraph should correspond to the topic of the paragraph. Therefor, any sentence which is not part of the topic sentence is considered irrelevant. The following is a short paragraph containing one irrelevant sentence.

Description of the task: Students are to identify it. Underline (if printed) the irrelevant sentence.

Description of the way to share the reading material: This reading text which is a single paragraph can be shared to the learners by sending the file in advance, then he/she can both print it out or just print it on the screen.

Things children can benefit from smartphone. Smartphone can be beneficial for children.Firstly, it helps them to communicate with other people using various platform. Social media is the thing that will help. Whatsapp, for instance, will connect children and other people using many features: text, voice call, audio record, video, and video call with ease. Then children can benefit from it. Adult people on the contrary, may use smartphone for everyday needs. Secondly, children may use the smartphone as a gigantic resources of learning. Almost all information the children need is served on the internet, it is in the smartphone. To enrich their learning, children may browse the internet. Thus, children can communicate easily and enrich their learning using smartphone.
