this guide will show you how to change the bootscreen (the splash screen) on your motorola v360 phone (this method works only for v360). you will need : 1. a motorola v360 phone and a mini-usb data cable working well; 2. p2k drivers 2.9 installed and enabled (your pc must recognize your phone as p2k device); 3. motorola bootscreen replacer. a link to motorola bootscreen replacer has been attached lower in this post. the software already have the offsets for r4513...acr : it will work for r4513...acr firmware. before start, i advice you something : create a backup from your phone containing cg1, cg3, cg7 and cg18 with fb3 (3.0.0->3.0.6) and put it somewhere in your harddisk. copy the .shx in another place. one .shx will be the original backup (this .shx will act like an ordinary backup) and the second .shx will be the backup to be edited (the .shx will act like the .shx you're about to flash on your phone, after you replace the bootscreen in it). the second .shx should be already splitted (all cgs in .smg format should be extracted in its folder). atention ! ! ! fully charge the battery before flashing ! if the phone will get bricked, you will need the remaining power in the battery to revive it ! follow the steps : 1. enter motorola bootscreen replacer; 2. check change image in firmware and 176x220 squares; 3. click on open flash file and browse in your harddisk, in the second .shx's folder, the cg1.smg file (the one that you're about to flash on your phone after replacing the bootscreen in it); 4. at choose flash type and image in the first line select v360 r4513...acr and in the second line select hellomoto (hellomoto is the splash screen/bootscreen. the welcome screen has no use because it doesn't even appear on your phone). in the right of these lines the image for the selected image should appear. please check it and see if at hellomoto it is the one you have now on your phone (it should be); 5. click on load from file... and browse on your harddisk for the .jpg/.jpeg/.bmp image file you want to replace with; 6. click on save flash, wait a while and press on the confirmation button ok; 7. exit the software and re-enter it. do again the action (open the same cg1.smg) and see if the image changed. if so, you may proceed to the next steps; 8. compile the cg1, cg3, cg7 and cg18 .smg files you just edited in a .shx file with fb3 (if you have 08.a0 or 08.d0) or with shxcodec (if you have 08.a0). it's up to you how you will compile them if you have 08.a0. if you have 08.d0 you have no else choice : use fb3; 9. enter fb3 (3.0.0->3.0.6), go at write data -> select flash file and browse in your harddisk for the compiled .shx; 10. in the list in left, check all cgs (cg1, cg3, cg7 and cg18) and press write data. if while flashing the edited files error occures (when writing cg...) and the phone isn't powering on or it shows errors in bootloader mode, try to flash the .shx (cg1, cg3, cg7 and cg18) you didn't edit with fb3 ! download motorola bootscreen replacer
