GAUGE 16 sts = 4”; 20 rows = 4” in St st on size 10 needles TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE

BACK With smaller straight needles, using CC, cast on 87(91-99-107-115-123) sts. Ribbing: Row 1 (RS): K1, * p1, k1, rep from * across. Row 2: P1, * k1, p1, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 2 1/2”, end on RS. Change to larger needles and MC and p the next row, dec 21 sts evenly spaced across – 66(70-78-86-94-102) sts. Work even in St st until piece measures 3 3/4”, end on WS. Dec Row (RS): K1, k2 tog, k to last 3 sts, SSK, k1 – 64(68-76-84-92-100) sts. Rep this dec every 1 1/4” 3 times more – 58(62-70-78-86-94) sts. Work even until piece measures 9 1/2” from beg, end on WS. Inc Row (RS): K1, M1k, k to last st, M1k, k1 – 60(64-72-80-88-96) sts. Rep this inc every 1 1/4” 3 times more – 66(70-78-86-94-102) sts. Work even until piece measures 14” from beg, end on WS. Shape Armholes: Bind off 4(4-5-6-6-6) sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 58(62-68-74-82-90) sts. Dec Row (RS): K1, k2 tog, k to last 3 sts, SSK, k1 – 56(60-66-72-80-88) sts. Rep this dec every RS row 2(23-4-6-8) times more – 52(56-60-64-68-72) sts. Work even until armholes measures 7(7 1/2-8-8 1/2-8 1/2-9)”, end on WS. Shape Shoulders: Bind off 3(5-5-5-7-7) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then 4(4-5-6-6-7) sts at beg of the next 4 rows. Bind off remaining 30 sts for back neck.

FRONT Work same as back until armholes measure 4 1/5(5-5 1/2-6-6-6 1/2)”, end on WS – 52(56-60-64-68-72) sts. Shape Neck: Next Row (RS): K18(20-22-24-26-28), join another ball of MC and bind off center 16 sts, k to end. Working both sides at once, bind off 3 sts at each neck edge once, then dec 1 st at each neck edge every RS row 4 times – 11(13-15-17-19-21) sts each side. When armholes measure 7(7 1/2-8-8 1/2-8 1/2-9)”, end on WS. Shape Shoulders: Bind off 3(5-5-5-7-7) sts at each armhole edge once, then 4(4-5-6-6-7) sts twice.

SLEEVES With smaller straight needles, using CC, cast on 49 sts. Work even in ribbing same as back for 2 3/4”, end on RS. Change to larger needles and MC and p the next row, dec 13 sts evenly spaced across – 36 sts. Work in St st, inc 1 st each side every 2 1/4(2 1/4-1 3/4-1 1/2-1-1)” 6(6-8-10-12-14) times – 48(48-52-56-60-64) sts. Work even until sleeve measures 18” from beg, end on WS. Shape Cap: Bind off 4(4-5-6-6-6) sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 40(40-42-44-48-52) sts.

Dec Row (RS): K1, k2 tog, k to last 3 sts, SSK, k1 – 38(38-40-42-46-50) sts. Rep this dec every RS row 9(53-1-5-5) times more, then every other RS row 1(3-4-5-3-3) times, end on WS – 18(22-26-30-30-34) sts. Bind off 2 sts at beg of the next 4 rows. Bind off remaining 10(14-18-22-22-26) sts.

FINISHING Sew shoulder seams. Neckband: With RS facing, using circular needle and CC, beg at center back neck, pick up and k86 sts around entire neck. Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Work even in k1, p1 ribbing for 1”. Bind off in ribbing. Yoke Embroidery: Using tapestry needle and Red Suede, work a row of chain st around base of neckband. With Green Suede, work a row of chain st 1 1/2” down from row of Red chain st. With Zen, using Lazy Daisy St, work 1” flowers between 2 rows of chain st approximately 2” apart around yoke. Work 1 French knot in center of each flower. With Metallic FX, make 3 horizontal French knots between flowers. Sleeve Embroidery: Work in same manner as yoke embroidery, working Red chain st at top of ribbing, Green chain st 1 1/2” above that, working flowers 1 3/4” apart between them, then working 3 horizontal French knots between flowers.

Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams.

Bottom Embroidery: Work in same manner as sleeve embroidery.
