Abstrak Cryptosporidium sp adalah salah satu protozoa penyebab diare pada individu imunodefisiensi seperti penderita HIV/AIDS. Deteksi koproantigen Cryptosporidium sp lebih sensitif dibandingkan dengan diagnosis etiologis secara mikroskopis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk deteksi koproantigen Cryptosporidium sp pada pasien HIV/AIDS dan dibandingkan dengan hasil pemeriksaan mikroskopis. Sebanyak 95 sampel feses pasien HIV/AIDS dengan keterangan klinis diare kronik diterima oleh Laboratorium klinik Parasitologi FKUI, kemudian dilakukan pemeriksaan deteksi koproantigen dan mikroskopi dari pulasan feses yang telah diwarnai modifikasi tahan asam (MTA). Frekuensi kriptosporidiosis menggunakan deteksi koproantigen sebesar 36,8% sedangkan dengan metode MTA hanya 11,6%. Sensitivitas dan spesifisitas koproantigen dibandingkan dengan pulasan tahan asam sebesar 100% dan 71.4%. Deteksi koproantigen perlu dilakukan pada pasien dengan kecurigaan tinggi terhadap kriptosporidiosis tetapi tidak ditemukan ooksita pada feses. Detection of Coproantigen Cryptosporidium sp From HIV/AIDS Patients with chronic diarrhea

Abstract Cryptosporidium sp is one of protozoan that cause diarrhea in immunodeficient patients such as HIV/ AIDS. Detection of coproantigen of Cryptosporidium sp is more sensitive than microscopic detection. The objective of this study is to detect cryptosporidiosis using coproantigen detection compare to microscopic detection from stool of HIV/AIDS patients with crhonic diarrhea. A Total of 95 stool specimens from HIV/ AIDS patients with chronic diarrhea were received by Laboratorium klinik Parasitologi Faculty of Medicine UI. The stool was tested using coproantigen and microscopy detection for cryptosporidiosis. The frequency of cryptosporidiosis using koproantigen detection was 36.8% while the MTA method was only 11.6%. Sensitivity and specificity of coproantigen detection compared with the microscopic was 100% and 71.4%.
